I will say that Spence seemed a bit… I don’t know… Out of it the last few days. He didn’t have the confidence. He also looked overly relaxed when he walked into the stadium earlier today. He actually looked kind of high… Dehydrated?

Spence hasn’t been the same since the accident. He’s damaged.
Believe it or not, I thought he was actually a bit better. His defense improved greatly. He also started to showcase more tools in the Ugas fight.

He tried to walk Bud down like he does with everyone else, (lead jab> body shots or hook) and Bud counter punched and kept a stiff jab out there when he tried to close the distance.

He really exposed some fundamental boxing boxing shortcomings. Derrick kept telling him to move around because he is becoming to easy to pick off with a jab or counter.

Errol looked very sluggish. Accident coupled with the inactivity spelled doom for him. Bud worked his entire camp on quick short punches and it worked beautifully tonight. Errol was a lot more agile and elusive before he set himself up for failure after that accident. The man is a major dog though for giving up alot just to make this happen instead of just moving up to 154 and having people wonder what if. I think he should move up and fight there by Dec and STAY BUSY. He will be champ again up there.

No, his punch resistance & reflexes have been compromised since the car accident. If you watched the Ugas fight, you didn’t notice that & even Ugas hurt him.

Spence getting hurt with a jab is the last thing I thought I’ll ever see & it was a beat down after the 1st rd.

I don’t think he improved anything & things look better than they are when a boxer is fighting a lesser opponent.

The fight looks like Margarito + his loaded gloves vs Cotto. That’s how basura Spence’s punch resistance looked in there. And for a guy known for his chin, it’s obvious he’s damaged.

EJ was a better fighter against Ugas. Head movement was good, defense was better, an overall sharper boxer than what he was tonight.

Also, it wasn’t just a jab. It was a stiff jab that was snapping Errol’s head back when he was on the pursuit. That forward momentum + the stiff jab was EJs doom.

Again, Derrick kept telling him to move around because he kept getting caught. In other words, EJ was way too one dimensional. Bud was the complete opposite.
