No guest character has brought in any significant jump in tournaments players ever.

At best you will see established players using guest characters as pocket trolls.

Man you don’t know that all. You have no idea how many casual players picked up a game and started to play, then decided to play seriously because their favorite character was in a game.

I know we have a player way back in the sc2 days that started playing soul calibur 2 on the GameCube strictly because of link.

Dude was really good and only really played link in casuals but had a nasty cass.

Ironically enough he started playing tekken also later on down the line.

A tutorial mode and a demo would bring in more players than Noctis or Geese.

This is going for $25 on BF and im hesitant because of the lack of a good tutorial mode.

Tekken is tekken breh, either you like it or you don’t.

I’ve been playing since tekken 2, even if their are tutorials , a new player is eventually going to run into somebody online that will make them rethink life

And they will quit ...

The only reason I don't play this as often is because of how the ranking system works. I won 3 in a row then proceeded to trade wins and losses back to back to back and the next thing I know I was in a demotion match. Like what the fukk? I didn't even lose any matches in a row. That's not fair so I no longer play ranked because.

A lot of these games these days have a trash rank mode setup. They need to all look at SC4's rank setup and do something similar because still to this day that was the best ranked mode ever.

Those Guilty Gear games have definitely found new players with their excellent tutorials.

Its ridiculous to have a fighting game ship wothout a tutorial, top players and commentators have criticized T7 for not having one since launch.

T7 is easily the best fighter out right now, but I completely agree that the lack of tutorial, lack of combo trials and anything that helps learn the game is an issue. Expecting people to make discord accounts, watch mad youtube videos, read text guides, search for combo documents.......just to play at a basic level is a flaw.

yeah its janky in that regard. you only get so many points beating people below you but of course if they win, you lose a ton. doesn't help that these "points" aren't actually displayed in-game.

I put a pause on ranked because its hard enough finding an initial match only for people to dip after 1 loss cuz I play Katarina (no one likes fighting against her apparently). and on top of that, i'm lucky enough to have two weekly tournaments here in Toronto with a ton of really good offline competition so i don't really have to rely on it

Because we getting Geese and have Akuma I thought we would get the main villains of all the other fighters. So I was hoping for Shao Khan or Scorpion.

I’m all for more characters tho so I’d rather get Noctus than no one at all
