The thing that I've got mostly from Tekken 7 is that game has been built and marketed solely for the needs of the Japanese audience.
Lucky Chloe, the huge delay in the console version, the removal of Lei, Bowling and idol costumes and now FF characters all seem like things that would go over in Japan far better than elsewhere.
It really does feel like Tekken fans in the west have been an afterthought with every decision in this game.
I've talked with a couple of JP players before, I don't think it's fair to take the heat off Harada and any jackass above him at Namco who most likely signed off on a lot of the dumb shyt with 7. LC is one the least used characters in the arcades and is not that liked, although they're not as disgusted by her as we are. They're also not big fans of the roster cuts since Japanese players are known for being character specialists. Ranca, Tetsuo, and Furumizu were very popular Lei users, and he was used frequently in tournaments. The JP players who look forward to Tekken's console releases are not happy about having an empty, incomplete product with retarded roster decisions and crappy DLC either.
