Take one day off and I'm getting absolutely washed.
No in between
I'm losing to garbage players and I try to adjust with what I know works but I can't. I'm stuck.
What are you getting washed by? Like the characters and what they're doing. Maybe its a matchup knowledge thing.
Sometimes I get fukked up by people with worse fundamentals than I have. but there is usually some flowchart or gimmick they're taking advantage of that will kill them if figured out. Just takes some time to realize it even if through trial by fire.
It's one of those slumps that we go through where nothing works. Always a step slow, hold back to guard and I'm holding down instead. Real sloppy stuff.
I thought I warmed up in practice mode for an hour and a half but got jumped online. I also have an issue where I play to the level of my opponent. I'll be taking games from mighty ruler Geese or Nina's then fall to Vanguard Asukas and Hworang.
Is this game worth $12 if all u care about is the single player story and won't touch online at all?
Is Tekken 7 worth it? I played a little of 5 but it was awhile ago and this is finally looking like its come into its own. The bundle with the S1 and 2 characters is 30 bucks. Worth it?
Depends. Tekken has very little offline content, so if you prefer the campaign and customization aspect of games then it falls well short of something like MK11 (Towers, AI Battle, Storymode, dedicated tutorial)
but T7 does have the most rewarding gameplay in the medium atm. The skill ceiling has no cap, you can learn something new everytime you play. No one is absolutely busted (not even Leroy; best character in the game but not OP) and everyone is viable so you can pick whoever you think looks coolest. Not that difficult to start playing - many characters are beginner friendly, but will take time to figure out how the Tekken mechanics function and become "good" if you don't have the legacy skill. Probably the hardest thing to get used to is sidestepping. Can get away with a lot of bullshyt in 2D fighters that carry risk in a 3D game because of the potential of it being stepped, whiffed, and punished. This is my favorite thing about the game atm.
Worth it if you're motivated to learn and get good at the game despite the learning curve. Want to play people offline/online. Like watching it being played competitively (JDCR vs Majin is a good test for that). Not worth it if you're just playing casually without any interest in multiplayer.
I love watching competitive Tekken. Majin is that dude and I’d definitely play online.
