Why did people suggest this corny shyt? Always hated that song

Corny people exist in every era. A lot of the 'heads' from the 90s are no different from the turn ups/blouse wearing lames of this era. They were just following what was hot around them, regardless of whether it was any good or not.

I agree. Always thought this song was corny. If a DJ plays it at an event I'm at, I know I'm not really among a hip hop crowd. Same with Gangsta's Paradise. I hope Guap doesn't do Gangsta's Paradise :snoop:

Sugar Hill sucks. Never liked that song. That production is so dated. That's the difference between classic and flabby. "The Come Up" and "Rather Unique" are classic; "Sugar Hill" is flabby.

Mind Playin Tricks On Me is a perfect song and definitely one of the GOAT songs. As always, I like that the youngin is showing y'all what this hip hop shyt is really about. Having a hard ass beat first, then getting a nice ass flow... and once we're hooked, saying vivid/meaningful shyt. Not once has dude rambled about bars, lyricism and these corny made up terms that dominated hip hop discussion when the genre turned into a cesspool.
WOAT opinions. Sugar Hill sucks?:gucci:
I hope you watched the video like this

The kid reacted like :ohhh::picard::banderas::whew::whoo::scust::wow: litteraly every other bar

That was definitely a genuine first reaction video :russ::dead:
Warning is vivid as fukk, I'm not surprised he was so hyped

I was smiling watching the shyt. And that's the thing - when you're an elite rapper it's just obvious. That's why it's so disrespectful when corporations try to force mediocre or downright trash rappers as elite. They're insulting hip hop's intelligence. And I say that as a dude that isn't really a Biggie fan like that. I listen to Nas (especially) and Jay-Z way more than Big. But the point is - Big is incredible regardless of whether you're a huge fan of him or not. You can't like hip hop and hate Big - he's too great of a rapper for that to happen.

When Big switched up his flow and was like: "Call the coroner!!! There's gonna be a lot of slow singing and flower bringing If my burglar alarm starts ringing" the only reaction one can have is :damn: :whew:

The hook "Damn, nikkas wanna stick me for my paper" is brilliant.

I remember early 2000's when I was still 18 and downloading 80's hip hop and feeling similar to this kid

Technology is great cuz before having such easy access to music you would have had to buy a bunch of old CDs or Tapes

NY all day..Da Stead & BK..
I'm convinced he's not even reading the Youtube comments. I've been looking through most of the recommendations and I haven't seen Jodeci once. He's getting recommendations from a totally different source. Maybe someone flabby close to him.
He said himself he's gonna be doing more RnB. And Jodeci is def not a bad place to start.

You can't help but quote and @ me, huh? :snoop: Breh, I'll soon put you on ignore and you can have years-long convos with yourself like the other cacs :mjlol:

I'm all for music convo but you've shown repeatedly that you're not capable. Don't quote me unless that changes :salute:
