Then your argument is meaningless. You're appealing to a phantom source. It's the same as making up a reference in a paper, essentially.

There's nothing to argue here if you "won't" or "can't" correctly cite a source for anything.

It's not a phantom source, it's just a source that, you know, costs money. I'm not going to pirate my Observer collection just to prove you wrong. I want you to actually PAY and see how wrong you are. It's much funnier/satisfying that way.

I didnt say you were a liar. I said Meltzer will confirm that Michaels on top led the WWE to bad financial times and them needing a true draw like Austin.

Meltzer never said that though. WWE in 1996 lost money, but not nearly as drastic as the 1997 run with Taker & Bret on top. WWE didn't turn around until Bret left the company.

I just realized what thread we're in. I now understand the butthurt that TrueEpic must be feeling, when Bret's own flesh and blood is shytting all over him. Yikes breh. Good luck with that Natty push. :pachaha:

And the goalposts are moved again. From cumulative buys and ratings to individual buys and ratings to phantom sources to ad hominems.

I'm an insomniac who likes to write and debate. That's all. I care more about the fact that your a shyt debater than anything the Harts have done. It's really not that important.

Go ahead, throw out another ad hominem statement. I'm ready.

I'm talking hard house show numbers that are in the books. You can't accept it because you're either too cheap to get Observer back issues, or too lazy to look up the numbers. If it was that easy to disprove, you would have already done something.

Oh, and it is a phantom source when you refuse to produce it in an argument that you introduced it into. If you know you can't produce it, don't reference it. It looks silly.

The WWF didnt turn around until they stopped pushing Michaels as the boyhood dream champion.

Says the guy that produced ratings without a source. Please son, I beg you, go spend your paycheck on some 1996 back issues, you'll not only see that Shawn was a house show draw, but you'll also see how little difference Bret made when he came back.

Actually when they stopped pushing Michaels in early 1997, the WWF took a drastic downturn in house show and PPV business. It wasn't until Michaels turned heel that they recovered their PPV business. Michaels vs. Undertaker feud was the thing that turned the PPV biz around. Again, this is all in the Observer.

I'll confirm one part of this: There's no way in hell I'm paying who knows how many dollars on back issues of something that I don't like to read just to go on a wild goose chase to find your numbers. I'm not spending money on that garbage, especially when I didn't introduce it into the debate. You introduced it, I challenged you, you produce it. Nothing else. The burden of proof isn't on me.

If you prove me wrong on the original terms of debate (cumulative drawing metrics as WWF Champion), then whatever. But you won't or can't do that.

It's really not that much if you're an actual wrestling fan. If you're a cheap, "I only read aggregation sites" type fan, you're out of luck. Cumulative? Shawn easily. Look up that word, cumulative. Shawn drew more from 2005-2010 than Bret did in his career. Easy numbers there. Bret was a one trick pony, drew some fluke numbers via first-time overseas trips. Shawn sold more merchandise in 2006 than Bret ever did cumulatively. (we're talking DX here, that counts bayba baybay)

As WWF champ? Check Shawn's house show numbers in 1996 compared to Bret's in 1994. www.historyofwwe.com.

Look guys I get it, Bret was a great in-ring worker, but Shawn outsmarted him politically and you're all furious. I get it. No matter how much merch Shawn sells, or how many people he has to turn away at autograph sessions while Bret does Virgil numbers, or how many times Shawn gets prominent roles in main event angles, you'll always ride with Bret.

I get it guys.

Victim mentality. Bret is a victim. Shawn is a predator. You hate it. Deal with it though. It's much easier when you deal with it :rambo:

Idiot.

There's nothing to compare when one guy doesn't have a career during that time period.

What I've always been about in this whole argument, is comparing them AS WWF CHAMPION WHILE CONTEMPORARIES. That's what my averages were of, and that's where you met me, before you just moved the goalposts again. You can see this in what I produced.

And if you want to check my numbers, Mr. High Roller, get some observers of your own, or dig up some back issues, and check them. Post all numbers you find and check and put the observers out here for everyone in TSC to verify and review. I put my ass out there in some way, at least.

Or, I could find Observers in my spare time and do it. It's not really that hard. Your choice.

I thought I told you about 100 times that Shawn's house show numbers dwarfed Bret's, as champion. Again, if you're too cheap to buy Observer back issues, I understand. The economy sucks. I'm not going to pirate my collection just to satisfy you. I had to pay for them, so should you.
