I get what the mayor is saying. Either bring folks back into the buildings or sell them off so other entities can take over these empty buildings. A lot of folks want to convert these office buildings into multi use residential units.

As for feds returning back to the office? That genie ain't going back into the bottle. Agencies outside of the NatSec departments are giving folks a minimum of 3 days a week telework.
Whole area stuck like chuck. Arlington County is in a world of hurt right now. That new 2 billion dollar Amazon HQ building started construction right before COVID hit. So Arlington had projected to have tens of thousands of high-paid workers throwing money all over the place by now at hotels, bars for happy hour, dry cleaners and all. :wow:

“Meta managers and directors targeted in the initiative will be told to transition to an “individual contributor” role at the company — such as coding, design or research — or exit altogether, Bloomberg reported, citing people familiar with the matter. The managers will no longer be responsible for overseeing other employees”
:picard:
The equalizing - everyone of those mangers who treated their team like shyt are about to have an ego check when they can’t exert their authority
:deadrose:

Which also means that they weren’t really needed in the first place
I mean let’s be real here, she was a manager at meta:

It doesn’t get more useless than this

You mean everyone will be equal and these clowns can't take credit for your work anymore?

And the shyt storm gets worse:

The severance package Google gave to 12,000 employees it laid off on Jan. 20 was among the best in the tech industry, but it wasn’t as good as many of the affected employees were initially told.
Google on Thursday notified soon-to-be former employees in the U.S. that it had incorrectly calculated the number of the stock grants many of them would receive, according to a copy of an email viewed by The Information. The result: some laid-off employees are getting tens or even hundreds of thousands of dollars less than they were told in an earlier layoff email from the company.
