Bruh, it's like 2018/2019/2020 were a fever dream.
When the money was flowing and opportunity was abundant, I was watching people
jump from job to job, left and right, rapidly increasing their salary.
I kinda sorta caught that wave but I didn't have the papers yet.
:pachaha:
Now I'm ready and the entire job market looks different.

People really didn't realize they were :eat: with them low interest rates, jobs posts flowing like crazy and houses that hadn't
doubled in price yet.

folks were off the chain with the arrogance making whole social media stars who just bragged about not doing work

I don't think all 40,000 or even half that # is gettin' ready to spillover into the private sector obv but there is the chance for a very small percentage to potentially at least throw some fillers out there muddying the waters for what is already sum bullshyt to trek through. But yeah, most of them will prolly tried to stay tied to the Fed shyt whether via govt contracting or sum shyt.
Thousands of Federal contractors got dumped on the job market back in 2012 and 2013. They brought tech salaries down because lots we're desperate. I was one of them.
:mjlol:
But I made them pay after COVID hit. Made all my money back and then some.

Just grateful I am still employed, been applying since December , I aint getting shyt but a screening :mjcry: we just hired two new guys to our team, infosec managers with 10 month gaps on resume :mjcry:. It's brutal out there. With that said, I am only applying for remote roles so that can be a huge reason why I am fukked.

Which doesn't make a lick of sense considering them profit margins. Meta is up 54% in the last year :dead:
I know Meta was supposed to be building a huge data center in New Orleans. There is no telling how much money they wasted on the Metaverse. So that's probably why they want to slash headcount to the bone.

C:\

https://www.seattletimes.com/busine...sed-blue-origin-plans-to-cut-10-of-workforce/

Blue Origin laying off 10% of their workforce, over 1000 people companywide. They just launched that New Glenn rocket too, crazy. Space is a bloodbath.

I was going through the interview process there last year but they put the position on hold after I did 2 interviews. I guess it was a blessing in disguise because I've been reading on Reddit that some people who've been there for less than a year got layoff notices. Some even moved their families across country for those jobs. :francis:
