It appears to be similar in accounting. I get hit up like crazy on handshake and I ain’t even graduate yet.
It's crazy how this shifted. I know a girl that was in her last semester in grad school when the pandemic hit in 2020. PWC dropped her offer from like $60k to $50k. she had been interning there and wanted to work there but sought other opportunities after that. She got n offer from a regional company for $64k and a $5k signing bonus which she took and started beginning of 2021. In a year they've raised her salary by $10k. shyt I told her as soon as she's fully licenses as a CPA (she completed the test just needs the hours which she's about to get in a month or so) she needs to shop her resume to the highest bidder, I think she cn easily get 6 figures.

So really what’s the best fields in tech to take advantage of this rush in workers? Where can i fake it until i make it? Get in with as little training as possible?
Just start with Tier 2 service desk. Embellish a resume with 3-5 years experience. Then watch a few youtube videos on common servicedesk IT interview questions (DNS/DHCP/IP, ping command, troubleshooting monitors n printers, outlook troubleshooting, ticketing systems,) . You don't need certs, or degrees. Just that "experience" and a high school diploma. Minimum like $60k. You could do this and land a job in a couple weeks.

fukk RECRUITERS. Some of the most incompetent people around. They usually know nothing about your field but are your first roadblock

Easy enough to get past them. The main issue is them ghosting the hell out of you :beli:. Companies can't even send you a rejection email anymore. Want some feedback on an interview? Good fukking luck :snoop:

All these companies are complaining but not offering training for employees. They use bullshyt excuses Luke this so they can lobby the government to bring in cheap labor via more h1b visa employees :mjpls:

The Truth
That’s because of how the recruiting process is and pay.

They want over-qualified people and trying to underpay them or want things completely unreasonable.

And then, usually the workload is ridiculous.

For example, my company put out jobs internally and nobody wants them. Reason being, they want them to get a high level certification (I just spoke to my recruiting company today. They were saying that CCNA is not considered a high level certification. I’m like ok, the average time it takes to get that cert is a year last I heard and the average pay in my area is 90k WITHOUT fringe).

So yeah, people are turning it down left and right. Not only will they get underpaid, they will also not get full reimbursement on the certification that only recently been required. People here got 5+ certs, degrees, etc., and you want them to get a high-level cert without compensation only to pay them the bare minimum?

Well this is what that person who gets the position probably will do.. take that little bit of money, get the cert, and quit for another company with high level pay (90k in my area).

This too, especially the training part.

Im certed up but don’t doo as much hands on in the field they’re recruiting for. So why not offer OTJ or training for people to get adjusted to the job. They obviously know enough to do the job, but IT is broad af..if you just want someone to come in knowing EVERYTHING about your company/job.. pay them.

People will accept the position then bounce afterwhile when they realize they can get more pay. One guy I know did that and bounced to 3 different companies and is now making 175k a year.

@Ricky Fontaine the day to day could depend on who you’re working for. It could be busy as fukk which some may like because it makes the day go by faster or slow. Depends on the company and how many employees they have and their needs. shyt could be as simple as just resetting passwords a few times a day. Also depends on the company and their SOPs and guidance.

Now is one of those times where brothers who are trying to break into the industry will be given more grace than they might be in different times. If you're nervous or unsure about putting yourself out there, just do it.

OP...aint no MF way boy... run dem cliffs my g

The article is saying companies are having trouble finding senior and higher skilled employees (data analytics, cloud, etc.) to the point where they are having to concede work from home and other perks that management doesn't like giving to employees.
This post below summarizes why the recruiters are having issues:

That’s because of how the recruiting process is and pay.

They want over-qualified people and trying to underpay them or want things completely unreasonable.
