The Falcons are missing:
- Their best linebacker
- Their starting RDE
- Their crucial fullback (their OL sucks)
- (Reportedly) their stud running back
However, given all of those absences, the Falcons still have a better passing attack then the Colts...who took us to the limit while missing their best RB and TE. So we can easily lose this game.
Grimes will do a good job on Julio Jones -- he's a tremendous corner with intimate knowledge of this team's play-calling, which tends to be vanilla.
Patterson/Carroll, if they continue to perform as they have for the past two games, should do at least a serviceable job on Roddy. He'll get his, but the bleeding won't turn into a hemmorage, especially since Roddy is playing hurt.
The biggest worry is Gonzalez. Traditionally, we suck at defending against TEs and Gonzo is one of the very best. Coyle will need to impress upon our safety tandem the importance of protecting the flat. Wheeler and Misi will also be key, particularly since dropping back against the pass is about the only thing Misi is good at.
Falcons o-line is shyt, so hopefully we can get a decent pass rush. Last week ,we got absolutely no pressure on Luck...which is stupid because out of our front seven, Misi is basically the only one who doesn't have a knack for getting to the QB. Dion Jordan better not whiff on another easy sack.
Hopefully Soliai will be able to play, but if he can't, we can still move Odrick up and keep a good line going.
Lamar Miller had a solid game last week, but I'd like to see more than 69 yards against this team, which wasn't great against the run last year. Akeem Dent is pretty much the only good run blocker in that front 7.
Overall, I think the Falcons biggest downfall is not being able to play four quarters of high tempo football. I think they'll take a narrow lead into halftime and then eat shyt in the 3rd and 4th, as Coyle adjusts its pass rush and Philbin keeps a quick offense pace going.
If Paul Soliai can start and Steven Jackson is out, I'm predicting Dolphins 26 – Falcons 17
