Private insurers arent going to compete with an institution they're already in cohoots with. Especially with Medicare.

You obviously are completely uninformed about how Medicaid works. All the government does is provide the funding, the government is NOT an insurance. For example, United Healthcare and several other private insurers have a Medicaid program called PAC (Primary Adult Care). I can assure you UHC PAC program is not a charity and does make a profit.

That's all it ever does, is insure the cost gets paid. The point is, when the money is guaranteed why would anyone, (school, hospital, real estate firm etc.)go with anything else?

you sure it's medicaid and not medicare? only way to get medicaid is if you are broke....and I mean 0 assets not living below the poverty line, but BROKE, if you have an income they are taking all of it and subsidizing what you owe...and there's a 5 or 7 year look back for what assets can be seized....if any private insurer is making a profit off that it's because of government subsidies not because someone is paying for it....

to add to the original topic that makes the Senator that much more shady....has to be doing something extra shady to get medicaid considering he's far from broke....
