Because conservatism in this country is designed to keep us dumb, poor, and oppressed.
Liberalism isn't perfect, but at least they are willing to listen and enact policy that actually helps black folk.
These people don't want anything to do with gradual change.
They want to see Shaft coming down from heaven on a black horse with machine guns on each arm to start the revolution, give people their reparations and smite cacs back to the pit.
If that isn't happening, it isn't seen as progress for people like Tariq.

The kicker is, most of the people who advocate for this have relatively comfortable lives and don't need the protections under the law that other poorer people require, and that Democrats fight for.
If tariq was forced to use an EBT card to make ends meet, he would be shouting from the rooftops for people to vote.

Tariq asked a very valid question and just 2weeks ago he said he supported local voting and backed Gilliam coming out of Fl. 
Dude has had the same energy since 2013 Obama's second term but now he's an agent Tariq been hustling from the jump but I actually agree with him that voting isn't going to save black people. The funny thing about black people mad at other black people who didn't vote is the fact they automatically assume you would've voted democrat. If the nikkas who didn't vote told you they would've voted republican or for trump during the election you would've been happy that they stayed home. Why are we foolish enough to believe that a country that was taken by bloodshed, slavery, rape, and theft would allow itself to have it's power shifted by voting? Voting is really there so you won't storm the castle because you have the illusion of actual power and choice to shift power. This is just my opinion though.
I don't believe I've ever heard a good argument for not voting... I'm all ears though.

Maybe its the fact that the Trump administration is working their asses off to strip Civil Rights from minority groups and idiots in TheColi think it doesn't effect black people, becayse we all know there are tons of racists who hate all groups besides black people. If it didn’t matter, then blacks wouldn’t have been killed and terrorized because they wanted the right. If it didn’t matter, then Florida governor Rick Scott wouldn’t have given a significant amount of convicted white felony n republican voters, their rights back, but damn near none for black ones. My black ass votes in every election. Not just for president. For my fukking mayor, councilmen, school board, county sheriffs.... all that shyt. I even go to town hall meetings. Why? Because it fukking matters. You know when it doesn’t matter? When you want to sit and talk about how voting was never meant for us, and you choose to sit your ass home.

I’m aware of all of this, but the average American don’t know about most of this. A lot of people are just voting to vote against trump.1. Criminal Justice reform. Trump’s Attorney General, Jeff Sessions, is literally against any type of reform even bipartisan reforms that would reduce sentences for non violent drug offenders . He actually wants to prosecute and jail marijuana users even in states where weed is legal.
2. Voting Rights Act- The justice system under Jeff Sessions is philosophically against prosecuting Voting Rights Act violations. Are you keeping up with all the voter suppression fukkery against black candidates in the Governor races in Georgia and Florida right now? They are kicking thousands of black folks off the rolls.
3) Healthcare access for millions of poor black people.
4) Higher minimum wages for poor people.
5) Free tuition for Trade, Junior Colleges and Universities.
I could keep going on.
Have you studied history? Do you understand how voter suppression post reconstruction led directly to the Jim Crow apartheid system?
