We need an updated face to be the voice for us in the community to the public. Al Sharpton time has been gone. The fact that Target thinks talking to Al Sharpton is gona help stop this TikTok boycott shows how out of touch they are. Do they not have any young black folks in leadership that could nudge the excectives to the right direction. No one is listening to Sharpton in 2025

Getting hung up on Sharpton is burying the lead. The point is that one of these billion dollar corporations was forced to acknowledge the common citizen through economic pressure.

The precedent is clear, so the next time someone tries to hand wave the idea of a boycott or social pressure, you have to look at them sideways.

This is just optics. Target isn't going to go bankrupt or face any real financial pressure, but they don't want the hit to their goodwill and the possibility of it growing.
