I had to go for an eye exam at Target in East Atlanta. That place was a ghost town at 5pm on a weekday. That was unheard of before.

The only people in there were gentrifying whites.

The few black people in there avoided eye contact with me and the ones made eye contact with me had a look of shame. Like we not supposed to be in here.
