Shionne must have been the character ACG called a sandpaper handjob. She's such a prick.

I don’t normally play JRPGs (other than the big titles like Persona) but the coli has forced me to pay attention.

I gotta get through psychonauts 2, and i already pre ordered deathloop but this could be next.

Would you say the combat is basically similar to FF7r? Turn based with some movement required?

No turned based at all, tho its regular attacks combined with special ability attacks based on meter could be so mildly considered like FFVIIR.

Just look at some vids showcasing the combos and such for a better idea of how it plays. Hell, there's a free demo. Try that.

there's a similar action economy system (AG in Tales, ATB bars in FF7R) for stuff, but the biggest difference in the two is how the games scale after the beginning

FF7R always stayed grounded to 1-3 bars, whereas Arise stacks AG pretty steadily - along with ways to refill it mid-combo enabling some pretty crazy shyt.... which the game builds towards over time. so i guess i'm saying ff7r will feel familiar out the gate, but after that start it'll start trending towards action game territory
