Not to derail but the problem with people always invoking "talking points" rehetoric is it's turned into a release valve for accountability or discussion. It's used as a blunt pejorative as opposed to actually addressing anything.
There are people on here that come from some of the worst cities/hoods in America (I can't be the only one) and seen shyt like this happen ALL the time. You would have a point if you actually addressed this situation with good faith instead of a blanket dismissal of it all because nikkas are saying some shyt that makes you uncomfortable.
You would also have more of a point of this wasn't a COMMON occurrence at dice games. This ain't some freak accident "
oh wow. DAAAAMN bruh" situation
If anybody is acting suburban it's the nikkas acting surprised that a hood dice game at 4am ended in a fight and a fatal shooting. The dollar amount ain't even relevant this exact same situation has happened over FAR less
I've said it before but black folks can blame everybody under the sun for shyt, and that blame is warranted definitely, but the second it's time to address our own shyt that we can deal with and fix nikkas come out the wood work with the blame shifting and fake moralizing
We love to stick our heads in the sand during times like these, maybe throw out a quick generic"
we gotta do better y'all" but when the coast is clear we go right back to playing
Most of the people commenting in here haven't been in these situations, so it's easy to brush off the risk volunteering for these situations presents. So you're right, those are the squares in here, the ones who have no issue with being in this setting "just minding your business"...
And just so I'm clear to the non comprehending brothers in here, I'm not blaming Takeoff for his death, he didn't ask someone to shoot him. I'm not blaming Quavo for his death, he didn't ask someone to shoot his nephew...
What I am calling into the light, though, is the judgement for these brothers to be in this setting at this stage of their lives and careers. That isn't good judgement, and these are guys that many, many young black men aspire to be, young brothers want to be Quavo and Takeoff, so then there is a direct correlation to the images these brothers, and others like them, perpetuate and how it continues to be the primary PUBLIC influencer (re: stereotype) of Black America...
The comprehension-challenged brothers on here still won't get it, I just thought I'd take a moment to clarify very directly the stance I'm coming from...
But what did rap have to do with Takeoff getting killed though?
This had nothing to do with rap. A lot of these rappers who are killed are not killed because of rap
None of these rappers are killed from "rap". Being a "rapper" isn't a dangerous occupation...
People in here understand what's going on...
The Jews are following supply and demand that’s not their responsibility.
The people with the resources and influence to gatekeep aren't doing so. Regular Joe's and Jane's in black communities across America aren't creating the demand, they are following the images passed down to them...
I'm not saying you said that the common folk are creating the demand, but some people clearly feel that way, and I disagree strongly with it...
it absolutely does....
we know our homicide and rate for violence is higher which is why rappers shouldn't be reveling in and going back to these areas and putting themselves amongst that element. gambling with some hood dudes you don't know and fighting with them over money you chose to gamble is a prime example of putting yourself in a shyt position, unfortunately Takeoff was the one to get hit, but even if this weren't a shooting, it already turned violent with a fight (per circulating stories)...as i said, show me the white artists who put themselves in this position? they don't because that's not their mentality nor what their fans expect from them
and to the bolded, they do have the same challenges, minus institutional racism, but yet they not killing each other the same way
You preaching in here, sister...
