So they gave him a 4 million dollar loan then 15% of earnings. Imagine getting 4 cold hard millions in cash assets and all you can do is buy buggatis and big ass chains. Embarrassing. Could have had that money working for you. And not even cared about the shyt contract.
Time and time again people show n prove that just being given money won't change your life if you have no value or discipline about it. Poverty is as much a state of mind as an economic hurdle.
He has to pay for studio time,features(50-200k) producers(50-100k per song back then), advertising, etc out of that as well. This man. I have no sympathy for these dudes blowing life changing money. $4 million in the bank you’re living like a doctor for life just off the interest. It takes zero effort With no “financial advisor“ to set yourself up for life with that much money.
$40 million say you get 1/2 take home, $1Million/year easy off interest.
He said he really blew his money on bad real estateSo they gave him a 4 million dollar loan then 15% of earnings. Is it his fault tho? We expect entertainrers to be living like that. They do it as much for us as them. We don't value artists who are on our level the same way. People will often argue about artists being better cuz they richer. It's a value the fan wants as well. So the illusion is built into the occupation. Fake it till you make it. This has been a fixture since the shinny suit era. Rappers used to talk about driving regular cars and wearing mall brands as well. When Biggie said more money more problem it was a statement that spoke on the culture as well.that Birdman mentality crippled generations of young blacks, thinking that they gotta ball out like him to look legit and 'real', draped in Euro luxury brands and so on.

Look at the credits on his first album. He did nearly everything. He is a producerHe has to pay for studio time,features(50-200k) producers(50-100k per song back then), advertising, etc out of that as well.
He only released 1 album?Look at the credits on his first album. He did nearly everything. He is a producer
Brothers here just can't be wrong. Tpain is the main producer for Tpain. He didn't do what you wrote you just assumed he was like the average artist back then but Tpain is a PRODUCER.He only released 1 album?
It could be considering TP was considered a generational talent but he should have signed a better deal but a lot of these guys want the upfront cash40M for an unknown artist who 20 years ago was a genre tweener doesn't sound realistic
Some of that is an advance that’s straight up given to him. But there’s also ways to liquidate the money. For example some of that money goes towards paying your studio time. But what if you or your “cousin” own the studio? Also some of the money is used to pay your rent. What if you own or your “cousin” own the property being rented? From the little that I know…the money can only be used towards his career…can’t take it and invest in any real estate or other outside ventures
This is why labels like artists to be young and poorSome of that is an advance that’s straight up given to him. But there’s also ways to liquidate the money.
