Your last post's logic was that a person is black if they are treated a certain oppressive way and have brown skin. Such a notion potentially makes many brown-skinned peoples "black" .This standard is absurd as my reduction shows. In other words: nonsense.



The lines we attach significance when it comes to defining race and separating peoples are social but they are still there, like the biological lines we use to separate rats and turtles into different groups are social when we assign significance to them too. Everything we interpret is in fact social as we interpret it, that does not make those classifications invalid. They are as invalid as the significance of the lines used to separate them. As there are tenets to ethnicity, so there is validity. Whether you want to say those matter enough for us to care is another question, but what some person believes somewhere does not invalidate obvious fact.

"Race" is a concept that is used to classify people into groups and is inherently linked to social, cultural and historical context. The concept of a "Black race" includes both African and Aborigines as different subgroups within that classification. Aborigines are not African, but they are Black

i am a white Aussie. Aborigines are BLACK i don't care if they're technically pacific islander/hindi or whatever the fukk the fact is in Australia, which is what this is all about, they are black and they are treated as black. Maori/Islander/Indian/Hindi whatever are not classified as black here. there's racism towards everyone who's not descendent from the UK around here lol they hated the euros when they came in waves after WWII Italians, Lebonese, Greek etc were all called Wogs & Dagos, Indians & Pakistanis are called curry munchers etc, Asians are called chicks & all that. it's very weird that they hate anyone who comes in on a boat or wasn't born here when their own grandfather may have been exactly the same or even their father in some cases.

When people see the new wave of Sudanese (and other African countries) here they don't say "holy shyt i thought the abbos were black so what are these fellas!?" they are black just like the Aborigines are black and the black Americans that come here are black. i don't think there's many Mexicans or Latino people here. Spain maybe but they would fall under Wog most likely.
