I wonder if the show will really be the same. What else is there? The Fillory takeover?

-There should definitely be fall out from Q dying.
They should explore that. And I expect that Julia losing her childhood friend should be up there. They did say magic comes from pain. Maybe we get flashbacks about him from her or more insight into his character.

-Also, there's the fact that Reinard's mom was killed by the monster. I expect there to be some fukkery from the Fox, especially with his abandonment issues.

-They might have to put him down for good this time.

-Water from the Mirror world spilling out after Everett got smoked, implying magic is flooding everywhere now from the mirrors everywhere. It looks like there's about to be more magicians everywhere as a result.

-Also I don't know where "The pedophile" is. That dude should be seen as dangerous. He survived all that time and he should rightfully be seen as worst than "The Beast".

They told us the next season preview in the last scene

There’s gonna be a lot of hedges because of the mirrors, and I bet a hedge civil war before the series is done. And even if the post above mine weren’t true, the biggest conceit of the viewer is that the writers have free reign to create literally anything they want

No Whammies!!
I really was not expecting it to go down like that for Q :mjcry:. I kept expecting them to come with some kind of way to bring him back before the credits rolled :wow:. Just reading interviews with the creators and actor it seems that is the end of his journey.

Hell of a way to go out on, I actually got emotional watching it unfold. When you consider where he started at the beginning of the series, to where Quentin ended up.

They teased some bits that Season 5 could deal with, but it will be weird watching the show without him. Even though The Magicians has a really talented cast overall.

Just looked at the EW link. Even most of the cast didn't know that the death was permanent :mjcry:

Wait, so were they aware what the bonfire memorial scene actually was when you guys shot it?
There was a dummy scene at the end of the script that washed all of that away and found a way for Quentin to survive. So, everyone — the crew and [the cast] — was under the impression that’s what was actually going to happen. They were playing it like he died for real. They just didn’t know it was going to be a forever decision.

Q’s death seems wild to me. He kinda connected everything/one. And then the bursting out into song took me outta the moment

Wonder how they do it from here,

It didn’t hit me as hard because my thought process was no way the writers will go down that road. Q is the main character in the though all of the characters have a strong role within the story. When Penny gave him the underworld metrocard, that’s when I was in shock. No magic in the world is bringing you back from that except maybe the Gods.

Wasn’t Julia and Q endgame in the books? Always wanted that to happen but the story went with Alice.

No Alice and Q were.

The show went completely left. Alice was still a niffin in the third book. Q was a 30 something teacher that was burned out and still grieving Alice being gone so he found a way to bring her back. Q’s power to mend minor objects came into play in the book. Wont spoil. He later used that same gift at the end to build a new planet/realm for him and Alice to explore and build a life in.

One of the few times I'm glad the show didn't follow the book.

I'm late as hell but that finale was a straight up gutpunch. When Q was like "Did I do it to save my friends? Or did I finally find a way to kill myself?"
:mjcry::to::sadbron:
Like damn thats a heavy line to drop. The way they handled his death was so well done.
Really wondering what happens next now.

@TheNatureBoy @MidniteJay @Reece Y'all still recommend this show? I'm finally watching BSG this Summer, so I'm wondering if I should also give "The Magicians" a chance.
Yes, still one of my favorite shows airing today.
Yeah, it's a top tier SYFY show right now especially with what they pulled off for season 4. :wow: Enjoy, breh.

I'm 7 episodes into Season 1. Who more stacked, Alice from "The Magicians" or Clarke from "The 100"?:
