They trying to recreate the Christopher Reeves formula. Problem is they don't have Christopher Reeves. and his formula only worked for like 1 movie. Most of the sequels he made were trash and hated. Might as well put Richard Pyror Jr in this too. People seem to forget we didn't like most of his movies

Man of Steel took the proper modern approach for a superman movie.

And everyone of those movies were universally panned.

People complained about him snapping Zod's neck and collateral damage from all the destruction. Thats not the film being panned thats just discussion of what happened in the film. I don't read comics but I watch Comic movies and usually just read summaries of the arcs being used for influence.

That said I thought the angle was Superman was gonna be a 80s Hopefully Goofy in a dark ass real world to thus highlight/ be the avatar of hope. lol I don't see the issue?

I am referring to the “Snyderverse and the interpretation of “Superman”. Cavill Superman is widely disliked and isn’t seen as a good representation of the character.

vocal online minority. Cavills superman was widely liked. People have been complaining just as much about how DC hadn't been using him and were hyped about the potential Black Adam Crossover until James Gunn squashed it.

The people disliking him don't know what they want and think someone more like Reeves should take the role. And yet nobody like Brandon Routh's Superman who was trying to emulate Reeves and was even in the same continuity.

I predict this will be an Anakin skywalker situation where people who hated on Hayden Christenson will realize later that they weren't being fair and actually love his take on the character.

Vocal online minority indeed, I think audiences spoke with their money. In an age where Iron man solo out performs Batman and Superman together I think that speaks volumes as to how general movie goers feel.
