Trust me, I’m no fan of Zack either. But he was clearly doing that in BvS

I wish someone would finally do DC right. Seems their best films are contained and not trying to DCU the thing. Why not put those types in charge? Reeves or Phillips should be running this. I reeeeaaaaaally hate Gunn’s silly shyt

What did they do that I missed it? I saw him showing up to save people, while looking like my mama when I interupted her soaps ":beli:". And they showed alot of people didnt like him. Which I guess makes sense if your going for realism on one hand. But on the other, its obvious he saved the city from Zod. So they are supposed to overlook any destruction he may have helped cause.

His whole arc was being loved as god like figure.. More of the same jesus stuff but since he saved the city from Zod, he was worshipped.. And no he didn't like it, that's why he had the :Beli: face.. He just wanted to fit in.. Hence, Clark..Those that hated him, was right there cheering him on when he had to fight Doomsday, then crying when he died...

It wasn't going to be him flying in with a smile and a wink... But they laid the groundwork

He didnt seem that beloved to me. Hated by Bruce, hated by Lex,distrusted by the govt. And even at that capital hearing the public seemed very divided. Maybe majority haters if you look at the signs.

Granted this is probably the most realistic response. And since he was working up to use the Injustice storyline,it makes sense in hindsight. But I think Superman should be loved worldwide almost unanimously.

BVS just gave you reasons not to like him. He just seemed indifferent to humanity, and not because he was being worshipped. Just seemed like he wanted to chill with Lois all day and humans were inconvieniencing him by doing stupid shyt,or for getting caught in natural disasters:beli:

Most importantly worship is different from legitimately liking Superman as a person. Which is what I think Death Of Superman animated showed.

He had supporters at the capital. They made that clear. There was a bit of montage as well that showed how some people he saved looked at him like a God but they didn't distrust him, he was their savior.

Not everything has to be spelled out. The nation (and world) was divided on Superman for various reasons. The government isn't going to trust something that's more powerful than it. That's why they want to keep nukes out of people's hands. They want to be the top of the food chain.

The movie made the divide pretty clear in my view and I think that's exactly how it would be too. Not everyone would love a "Superman" no matter how much good he does.

Watch it back, they make it clear he has detractors at the capitol as well. Read the signs they are holding, the ones i could make out are anti Superman. But I said it was divided too.

You pretty much agree with me because I said it was divided. And that that would probably be how it would happen in reality. I just prefer humanity NOT being divided on Superman. Humans should view Superman as our guy. I dont even see the point of humanity or govt being divided. Cant none of yall whup Supes:heh:

Let the few weirdos who hate hate. Not as if the people who hate him are looking for humans permission to take him down.

Again... By the end of MOS, the gov was cool "I'm from Kansas...."

By the end of BvS, the rest of those people came around when he died

Think Spider-Man trilogy, 3 movies to get to his origin as the comics have him... This was like that... End of JL was probably the Superman, all loved, that we were used to

They don't know that... humanity probably thinks you can just bomb him to oblivion. Military might believe the same.

What you are basically saying is Snyder didn't make the Superman you wanted or prefer but I don't believe that was his intention. He explained that he wanted it to be "what would happen if Superman came to our world" and I think he accurately portrayed that.

The thing about Superman or even Batman is they've been around for a hundred years. There's been dozens of iterations now.

James Gunn's Superman will probably be closer to Donner's but I don't even think it'll be Full Donner and I don't want it to be. He'll for sure have some of his own spin to things.

These are all assumptions,he was dead at the end of BVS so whos to say they came around? And "probably" by the end of JL isnt any help if we didnt get to see it.

My problem is they didnt do much to make him liked imo. On top of showing people didnt like him.

I just said Death Of Superman did a great job at showing why Superman was so beloved it. I agree Snyders version is probably accurate to how humans would actually treat Superman. But that doesnt have anything to do with them not making Superman very likeable as a personality. They just wanted us to like him because his name is Superman and he saves people. Well, nobody loves the local fireman strictly based on that:mjlol:

still don't trust Gunn as a rounded film maker. I'm more of a Russo fan than a Gunn fan when it comes to comicbook movies.

Too many people want Superman to be what i would describe as "campy" when i feel like Man of Steel got the tone correct.

James Gunn style is better suited for a comedic type character, If he had done this in reverse and was jumping over to marvel to do a spiderman franchise, i would think it was a perfect match.

But like any true comic fan, i'mma watch this when it comes out and judge for myself.
