That's not accurate. Characters like Hawkeye and Black Widow appeared in other movies well before they got their own shyt. These characters could just be doing small cameos in the Superman movie.
And nobody cared about them and when it was time to get us to care and they got their own shyt… one was an origin story we now didn’t care about. The other was the origin story for another character.
'The Batman' just came out last year. Huge success. Wasn't an origin story.
A whopping one movie. Now how many had origins and was printing money? From Superman in the 70s till now?
Joker was an origin story and did better. But let’s throw in spidey with holland as not having an origin too. What’s the best one of the three? The one with the other spideys. Why? Cause you knew them from before the powers….
No one should get their own movie just for the sake of introducing them.
The story has to be worth it above all else.
And not every origin is an interesting story.
That’s not anything I ever said. But let’s skip the Stan shyt. Origin stories are important in storytelling AND world building.
You want people to see your main character come from a young pup who don’t know shyt, to learning how to be this super god like figure. The story is in the come up. It’s literally a story ARC.
To launch your flagship character and start an entire connected universe and have zero origins but 100 characters…. The general public is not going to latch on and care like as if they watched them get it out the mud. If MOS had 3 films and then Nolan’s Batman showed up to fight, that shyt would have done two billion easy. If JL was the 6th DCU film, it would have went crazy.
Y’all pretending this isn’t big but not realizing all of Hollywood keeps asking him why cause it’s actually big to be doing this.
