Gunn is terrified that this movie is going to flop so he's cramming it with as many characters as possible :mjlol:
I loved snyders stuff as much as anyone, but you sound like his try hard fans on facebook…infact there was a post today about how gunn is so afraid of making a superman movie he knows cant touch MoS so hes using other characters. It all comes down to the story and gunn is building a universe that feels lived in, so none (or very few) of the characters are getting an origin flick.

Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven
That's not accurate. Characters like Hawkeye and Black Widow appeared in other movies well before they got their own shyt. These characters could just be doing small cameos in the Superman movie.
And nobody cared about them and when it was time to get us to care and they got their own shyt… one was an origin story we now didn’t care about. The other was the origin story for another character.
'The Batman' just came out last year. Huge success. Wasn't an origin story. :ohhh:
A whopping one movie. Now how many had origins and was printing money? From Superman in the 70s till now?

Joker was an origin story and did better. But let’s throw in spidey with holland as not having an origin too. What’s the best one of the three? The one with the other spideys. Why? Cause you knew them from before the powers….

No one should get their own movie just for the sake of introducing them.

The story has to be worth it above all else.

And not every origin is an interesting story.
That’s not anything I ever said. But let’s skip the Stan shyt. Origin stories are important in storytelling AND world building.

You want people to see your main character come from a young pup who don’t know shyt, to learning how to be this super god like figure. The story is in the come up. It’s literally a story ARC.

To launch your flagship character and start an entire connected universe and have zero origins but 100 characters…. The general public is not going to latch on and care like as if they watched them get it out the mud. If MOS had 3 films and then Nolan’s Batman showed up to fight, that shyt would have done two billion easy. If JL was the 6th DCU film, it would have went crazy.

Y’all pretending this isn’t big but not realizing all of Hollywood keeps asking him why cause it’s actually big to be doing this.

You're conflating not telling someone's origin story with rushing a story, when really it just depends on the story you're telling.

Black Panther debuted in Civil War before his origin film. Same thing with Wonder Woman in BvS. Snyder just isn't a good storyteller.

One of my biggest gripes with MoS was that they kept jumping back and forth between origin and present day. Snyder didn't want to block out time to tell it and the film suffered for it.

There will be origin stories and films in Gunn's DCU, Superman just doesn't need one.

I'm not buying it. It feels too soon. They have the costume designer from Captain America Civil War and I think she can do better than this.

Superman needs to be in red trunks :dame: and that blue could be a little lighter. Just light enough to* almost be but not quite sky blue.

I been watching a lot of Superman content lately

From Superman and Lois to the animated show “My Adventures with Superman”

And both shows are I think the best direction to go with Clark/Superman

I’m sorry but the Snyder version overall is trash and that may be the worst Clark/Superman ever…… Zack is a Hack

I like seeing a more empathetic Clark/Superman and it’s cool to see him save the everyday people on top of battling superpowered foes.

Or it’s successful. Everyone in the world isn’t comic book nerds like us.

I want to see this win. DC wasn’t always trash. They started this shyt with Batman and Superman and Wonder Woman. Then did it again in the 80s/90s. Then did it again with nolan. Most successful stories in the dcu.. origin stories. In fact the only time they didn’t reach full success was them skipping them in the DCU

It was said it real time they shouldn’t go so fast. Now they doing it again

Every member doesn’t have a good enough rouge gallery for a solo movie for one and some of them aren’t solo movie worthy. Having an already established world is the best compromise, MCU already had established heroes before they acknowledged it in the first avengers

The trunks look goofy though I understand it’s a comic book movie but them ditching them was a good idea imo

It's comics you can argue everything looks goofy. I don't see how a look Superman has rocked for 75 years is somehow now the worst offender.
I know i know none of the characters look good in live action with the trunks that’s one thing i like about the wolverine costume its faithful and not overly goofy

Last thing i watched was Death Of Superman. And that movie really made you see why Superman was so beloved by the city. Its how L.A and Kobe fans felt when the chopper crashed:mjcry:

Zack Snyders Jesus symbolism was overplayed. Its not just worshipping the heroics, but you got to watch him go through trials and grow as a man. Seemed like he was more feared than loved in the Snyderverse. I dont think humanizing Superman is that hard. How about having him interact with humans and not be a a$$hole with the :beli: face.

Trust me, I’m no fan of Zack either. But he was clearly doing that in BvS

I wish someone would finally do DC right. Seems their best films are contained and not trying to DCU the thing. Why not put those types in charge? Reeves or Phillips should be running this. I reeeeaaaaaally hate Gunn’s silly shyt
