this has always been the fatal narrative flaw with Superman. You have a hero who is basically infinity Gauntlet Thanos level of powerful.
Dude is faster than Flash,
stronger than Wonder Woman,
can fly and shoot lasers better the cyborg,
freeze breath works better than Mr Freeze's gun,
Plus he has xray vision, is bulletproof, immortal, and can even turn back time.

Take away some that shyt, he doesn't need to be able to do everything. If you can fly and are invulnerable do you really need super speed on top of that? Make him Iron Man fast in the air, Cap fast on the ground. I think that would be enough right there to fix his character. Otherwise you have to do cheat codes to make him interesting. The Kryptonite, or maybe he's evil now troupes can't be recycled over and over.

steppenwolf is a weakling. WW and Aqua man was giving him beats as well. I wanted 2 see darkseid but it looks like we won't see him until the 3rd JL movie

They brought him back from the dead, plus they built up the plot that Steppenwolf showed up BECAUSE they thought Superman was dead.

It made sense

Would've looked worse if he came back only to get slept.

He also helped Flash because he was the only other member fast enough to do both.
