Wtf...lolThe budget ended up being a lot more than 175 mil because of the reshoots. THR has an article about how it needs to make like 750 mill to break even
I know folks that hated the movie so its not just an online thing.
Bruh, this isn't an attack on you because you are one of the homies but that number the THR unnamed source is throwing around as what is needed to break even is absurd. Now if they had said they needed $750-800 million to be seen as a success by WB then I would think they were credible but to say that number is necessary to break even shows that the source was just pulling shyt out of their ass.The budget ended up being a lot more than 175 mil because of the reshoots. Xmen had the 65% drop and this one has a 67% drop going from Week 1 to 2.
We shall see, no need for a ban bet, it isn't that serious to me. I see DC seems to have a large impact on your life though, you acting like I'm talking about a member of your family.
Yeah I don't think this is cracking 550mil worldwide and I still don't think its going to actually make its budget back in the theater with the inflated costs that are being reported.
3 weeks at #1 and now sitting at 572 million ww
Nah bruh, you missed the update. It dropped 86% in Week 3 and now needs to make one billion to break even!

That is pretty impressive considering BvS got about $100 million from China alone so it is conceivable that Suicide Squad would be over $600 million/close to $700 million right now if China had allowed the film to be shown there.Without China

‘Sausage Party’ Loud In 2nd With $32M+ As ‘Suicide Squad’ Drops Its Guns: Evening B.O. Update

3RD UPDATE, 9:45PM: The biggest threat facing Suicide Squad this weekend isn’t Batman or Superman, but raunchy Sausages, and even Pete’s Dragon.
Based off early evening figures tonight, The Warner Bros/DC pic is headed toward a -69% second weekend drop that’s on par with Batman v. Superman. If Suicide Squad doesn’t pick up this weekend, then it will tie with the Zack Snyder superhero clashand 20th Century Fox’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine as one of the worst sophomore fall-offs for a superhero movie. After beating Disney/Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy for the highest opening in August, the tables may turn on Suicide Squad with the James Gunn-directed movie holding the best second weekend in August with $42.1M to Suicide Squad‘s $41.9M. Earlier this week, it appeared that the under 35 bunch who gave this movie an A- were bound to keep Suicide Squad‘s legs going, but this is what happens when a superhero movie is universally panned by critics and with a ho-hum overall CinemaScore of B+.
In order to fly, as Marvel banks on every time with its movies, a superhero movie needs to win over both intellects and fanboys. But the other thing that’s going on here, especially with critics, is that when it comes to DC movies, they still have a crush on Christopher Nolan. The Dark Knight director stacked the deck in DC’s storytelling making it difficult for other filmmakers to rival or emulate. On the bright side, Suicide Squad will clear the $200M this weekend stateside, on its way to $400M global.
Sony/Annapurna’s Sausage Party is simply hot. It’s winning Friday with $13.3M (that includes its $3.25M Thursday), ahead of Suicide Squad with $13M and the Seth Rogen-Evan Goldberg production is set to clear $32M. We hear there’s been good word of mouth for this movie despite its B CinemaScore tonight. It’s directed by Greg Tiernan and Conrad Vernon whose respective previous credits include wholesome family fare Thomas & Friends and DreamWorks’ Monsters vs. Aliens. Rogen fare typically lands a B+ CinemaScore (The Green Hornet, This is the End, Knocked Up, Pineapple Express) or a B (The Neighbors franchise). Not to spoil anything, but the ending is worth the price of admission all its own.
-----------
With their low end estimates they have to beat 550m worldwide (estimates from the studio)
With the more likely projections from analyst, looking at reshoots, double editing, some say it has to hit 750 - 800m worldwide.
Either way this is looking like another WB/DC Flop.
69% drop SMH

Also Germany got the movie this past Friday and those numbers have not been counted yet as far as I can find and based on how BvS did then its possible Suicide Squad will end up making around $20 million there before its all over and Japan doesn't get the movie till September so there is another possible $20-25 million waiting for the movie in the land of the rising sun.
It went over my WW estimate, greatly, can't deny that.635 million still not open in every territory

As for the SS spin in the article, I don't believe it, no way this movie got P&A and budget for 300 mil, with reshoots, dual editing, and etc. Not realistic.
