On the Wu Tang double album, there's a talking interlude with RZA and GZA dissing "cat in the hat...dr. Seuss" rappers.
HAS to be aimed at Busta, right? or is that a reach
I always thought it was about Puff / Bad Boy:
Rza: "This ain't no R&B with a whack niqqa takin' a loop and reloopin' that shyt and thinkin' it's gonna be the sound of the culture. Yamsayin?!"
Gza: "All that playa bullshyt!"
Rza: "All that playa-dressin-up ; actin' like this some kinda fashion show, man. yamsayin', this is hip-hop right here."
Rza: "And to all y'all niqqas thinking you gawn become an MC over night? You betta snap out that f*ckin dream. It takes years for this ... you cat-in-the-hat-ass-rappers."
Rza even references the "Shark Niqqaz" track when he goes, "We told y'all back on the Cuban Linx album don't bite our shyt!"
Puff, obviously, had released Big's LAD with the Diana Ross sample for "Mo Money" dressing in shiny suits in the videos. A half-year prior, released his (Puffy's) own first single "Can't Nobody Hold Me Down" which essentially started his solo "rapping" career.
