Whenever a rapper talks about all the things theyve done for you or gave you, instead of the money you made be skeptical. Like Birdman giving chains and cars instead of good deals.

Hood gave a specific name at Koch that told him about the money. Styles didnt address that. Instead he says we gave you and your mom money after the fire. :comeon:

Above the fray.
I don't watch his platform

it's stirs up a lot of issues. he's in it for the wrong reasons and will falter.

He's in it for the right reason. Hip hop is a globally dominant artform, and anybody who has made a mark in it should be trying to carve out a way to make money now.

He actually had a unique spin on the podcast interview format. But clowns are always going to revert to being clowns.

He had Melle Mel and Grandmaster Caz on there, and Math felt he had to shuck and jive and make silly comments/questions to draw views.

I would listen to the album if it was released. I can't believe that they haven't squashed whatever issues they had over the years. Would have been cool if they could have brought him out at that Versuz with Dipset.

I was low key hoping Hood was gonna pop out on that stage smh. That would've been fire. And I guess we'll never know what really happened. They've allegedly peaced it up behind the scenes but have never been seen with eachother in 15yrs... its weird... Hood also said he was at the versus and went back stage and chopped it up for a minute then went to his seat in the audience even though they invited him to hang out.

Hood spoke his truth. He didn't do anything wrong. Math didn't do anything wrong either. He asked Hood valid questions. I'm going to ask a nikka why he didn't bring up 60k owed to him, because that's what I would do if someone did that to me.

My theory

LOX pulled industry favors and got JHood some hot placements (Pete Rock, Primo, Chingy), album got shelved. Lox took the $60K as pay back.

Styles came up there and was honorable as fukk. Not with bs, calm, respectful. He would have answered any question about J Hood. The idea that Mecca made him forget to ask about it makes zero sense when as you said, Math KNEW he had J Hood coming in that week.

The entire point of signing someone to a rapper imprint is to release their album so you can make money. I'm just not buying that D Block decided the best way to rob this man was to fukk with his advance and then take a 60k check they couldn't have planned for. He says the budget wasn't cracked and then says the producers were paid. None of this makes sense. This isn't like say...Dipset slow walking a Hell Rell album because they know it's gonna bomb. J Hood was HOT. He def goes gold with the right singles. Even if you agree with J Hood that they weren't the best businessmen I'm gonna assume they understand a gold album gets them way more than the $60-70k they allegedly decided to take from him instead.

J hood was not "hot" at all. And people only listened based on the cosign:mjlol:

I wouldnt even consider him hot in terms of the mixtape rappers. Letalong the entire rap game.

Everyone was putting albums out on koch... this theory makes no sense. Universal dubbed D block because they didn't like sheek walk wit me album. So sheek went to Koch and convinced hood to go to Koch too. Once they got to Koch they still wouldn't release his album... there's no way possible Hood got shelved on an independent label when every obscure artistul under the sun was putting albums out.
