gives a fukk what yall talmbout in here. thread is wild because these guys are polar opposites especially in terms of careers. this is coming from a Styles fan, but Banks is and always was the better lyricist. On BadBoy, Styles was my least fav out of LOX. he struck gold on his solo career. from that point, work ethic has been crazy. he has some dope mixtapes and all of his retail releases are quality. you are talking about a guy who just doesnt miss. if you are talking about artist, no question Styles is better and more consistent....but hell, he still my least fav from LOX but he puts out more cohesive projects than Jada and he is more consistent than Sheek.

Banks has been away from the retail scene for a while. he took a totally different path and was somewhat behind the times but Banks mixtape discography is nuts when you comb through it and look at his evolution from punchliner to narrator. you are comparing a guy who has an extensive high quality retail career to one who doesnt....but yet and still has great catalogue but without the fanfare because his best work was released on mixtape circuit and not retail. as @TheDarceKnight said....AON/FNO series was work of art. not to mention Cold Corner 1,2. V5, V6, Halloween Havoc series. as crazy as it sounds...in one regard Styles is the mainstream artist and Banks is the underground artist, even though notoriety/popularity wise it would appear the opposite. if you just going off of who knows how to make better retail releases...shyt...there aint to many that can even compare to Styles...period so that isnt a fair comparison. Styles damn near washes Jada.

I don't see how Banks is a better lyricist honestly. He's a better punchline rapper for sure.

banks hasn’t been a punchline rapper in years and years breh. I don’t blame you for not realizing because he’s been underground as fukk but his whole style has changed.

I fukk with styles and think he’s underrated too but I think Banks pretty clearly edges him out.

Banks had more mainstream success than Styles. He isn’t a underground rapper. Now he is but before he wasn’t. Coming out on 50’s debut album with Eminem on the same song shows how much more he should’ve been on top. Styles only hit was I Get High.

I know he hasn't been, I listen to Banks lol. Not religiously, but I've definitely kept up with him, he's more in his syllables bag. I'm just saying what he's mostly known for.

I think Styles has pretty much always been better than Banks. I think Banks is dope but I have Styles better in every category except for flow.

thats what I said. I said they basically flipped positions thats why thread it overwhelming in fav of Styles. Banks has experienced more commercial success from his early career, but then he was still doing mixtapes when nikkas was on the retail/dsp game and Styles been dropping like 5 retail projects per year for years while Banks aint dropped shyt retail since when??? its a perception thing. Styles definitely more popular than Banks now and in the past 10 years....the only thing is the G-Unit brand is still so large. thread is more about perception of said careers.

Styles hard. but still basic. Banks is nuts. especially AON series and Element of Surprise joint off Conflicted. Flow and lyrics is dumb. He aint been on that punchline shyt for years. I still prefer Jada and Sheek over Styles lyrically. I just think its how masterful Styles is at putting projects together it has people overrating him lyrically. Like his energy and aggression shyt on East on Beloved...and its not like East wasnt trying. I mean people saying Styles better than Jada, people putting him in their top 10-15 and LYRICALLY, I dont see it...but on the other hand if you look at his consistency and body of work as an artist..yes, he is right there.

not even about the voice for me. Kiss literally is top 5 DOA if you are talking about consistent verses with bars. albums average as hell, but him and G-Rap never had a wack verse.
