The problem with this analysis (or maybe the original analysis that he's analyzing) is that it uses a set of logic to explain why they will regress, but ignores the same logic as to why they may improve, specifically defensively. They also make a lot of assumptions based on nothing but their own guesses.

Will the Knicks be as good a 3pt shooting team as they were last year? Probably not. But they still have plenty of shooters, and honestly, they may be a better midrange shooting team than they were before. Udrih, MWP and Bargnani should all improve the team's scoring from inside 15-18ft, not to mention MWP and Bargnani both still have the ability to hit the 3 on a somewhat consistent basis. Plus, Shump looks to have a better shot, and THJR seems to have a nice jumper as well.

The defense should also improve considering Shump is actually 100% healthy, K-Mart will be with us the entire season, Prigs will be on the court more, and getting rid of Steve Novak and Chris Copeland also gets rid of horrible defenders, even if they are good 3pt shooters. Our biggest problem was our inability to guard PGs and SGs last year (during the regular season). Having Prigs, Shump, and MWP on the team, it shouldn't be as big a problem. Is MWP the same defender that he used to be? Of course not. But he's still one of the better defenders in the league. Maybe a second tier defender, only because of his age.

And finally, let's kill all this Steve Novak talk and how much he supposedly contributed to our team last year. This dude got a good portion of his points during garbage time. Woodson barely put this dude on the court when it mattered, and when he did, his defense killed us. And, as the season went on, he got even less playing time and could barely get his shot off. If we were talking about 2 season ago, I would get it, but Novak, while accurate, did just as much to hurt the team as he did to help it, last year. Copeland was actually a worse loss for us than Novak.

Furthermore... with this new line-up, we don't know how much playing time everyone is going to get. If the past is any indication, how much money you make doesn't really matter. With Woodson's style of coaching, it's not easy to tell how much playing time MWP, Bargs, Udrih, K-Mart, STAT and THJR are actually going to get. And that will ultimately determine what style of play they will be utilizing.

Someone from the coli:troll: Writing that article .... Was it you @FreshFromATL ?

Lol at y'all thinking that prediction is out of the realm of possible outcomes for your season. Obviously I think y'all will finish a lot better than that but it won't take much for y'all season to get debunked to the point where ol' boy who wrote the article would be looking like a genius come the end of the season.

The 37 Wins Prediction Was Done Out Of A Numbers Based Analytics System On Some Hollinger shyt, So I Cant Take That Too Serious, Even It Predictd 60 Wins For Us, Its Just A Numbers Game

But The Sixers And Raptors Won 34 Games Last Season So To Say We'll Only Win 37 Is :wtf:

You do realize, this was the same reasoning that made analysts eat crow last year as a result of NO ONE picking the Knicks to win the division.

I tell you, The Knicks hate is very strong. It's perplexing though, why people hate them so much. :what:

Yea, I kinda figured it was based on some sort of analytics, lol. But analytics are fun (maybe because I'm a computer and math nut), it gives us a chance to predict outcomes without human opinion, just strictly numbers and formulas. But no way the Knicks finish under .500 (barring a major injury or something), I got y'all around the 45-52 win mark this year. Also, I think the 5-8 seeds in the east will be competitive. I believe everyone that makes the playoffs this year will have a 500 > record, which mean the win totals for the 1-4 seeds won't be quite as high as they were last season.

:ohhh: This is the most extensive analysis you've ever given about the Knicks that doesn't sound like it's being overwhelmed by your blind hate. Good job breh:obama:
