everyone blamed it on the 18 wheeler so when the cops came they wasn’t after me

The back of the car, where the deceased victim, Ashley Perkins, was sitting was flung 100 yards away. Perkins' body was found in the nearby bushes, and she was pronounced dead on the scene.

18 is old enough to know the dangers of street racing. He killed a mother and her 1 year old child. Whilst he will eventually get a second, they won't because of his actions.

It's very strange how saying "Hey maybe we should rethink crime, punishment and rehabilitation especially on 18 years olds" elicits this type of reaction. On a board where we routinely talk about how barbaric and disgusting whites are for the way they set up and run this justice system. The mere suggestion that we shouldn't be like them is met with pure vitriol or a weird accusation that you're a "Cac" when they're the ones who choose this barbaric system of justice.

Rehabilitation is for drug addicts, ppl with undiagnosed mental illness, ppl who commit crimes due to poverty.

Deterrence is the only thing that works with ppl like this. People who have everything they want/need but still continue to do antisocial shyt. And I guarantee you he was probably stopped and let off w/ warnings at least as many times as he was actually ticketed.

If he wants to be of use, then perhaps he can film PSAs intended to stop other kids from ending up in prison the same way.

What's strange is you trying to conflate his sentencing to the struggles black people face in the legal system.

The statistics show that we are targetted at a disproportionate rate, the statistics show that people are more likely to use excessive force when aprehending us. The studies show that we are punished more severely for like for like crimes. Pointing out the inequalities that exists should not open the discussion to showing leniency towards an 18 year old man whose disregard for human life resulted in the death of a mother and her child.
