Also...in what reality does the cartel come after someone in the drug game and NOT finish the job?

They knew who Walter White was and he was in plain sight for at least a year! He should have been DEAD.

THE WALKING DEAD.

The achievement in makeup/set design/costumes alone make it tier zero. The fact that they can get you sucked into a charactor and care when they die is on the wire level, and the fact that have done a phenomenal job at capturing the zombie horror genre so well is amazing.

Its a tougher genre than Mafia / Drug crime as well, because it deals with the loss of everything, coping with hopelessness, human connection and loss theroef, true survival instincts, and theres no source material to reference outside of the genre (only other films, comics etc) unlike the others where you have real life examples and criminals.

You all can spare me the dungeons and dragons esque game of thrones riff raff, the cornyness of weeds and nip/tuck, the the shield and 24 are above them anyway. I admittedly haven't watched Boardwalk Empire (yes I fdup) but I dont think I've heard it talked about on the tier zero level anyway.

It also has maybe the GOAT pilot episode of all time; I was sold right then.

Compare season 1 carl to season 4
Compare season 1 carol to season 4
Compare reluctant leader Rick to broken down shell of a man rick
Look at the subtle psychosis, breakdown, rebuild, and sociopathia of The Govenor leading to his demise.
Look at Mishonne and the depth of her charactor going from high class Georgia house wife to straight up killer.
Look at Darryl going from dirtbag to leader and his mental battle about his brother.

you're wrong on charactor development buddy
Aight... since you put those other shows up there I'll ask you this... and I'm not going to spoil anything for anybody who might not have seen those shows but...

IMO the character development in TWD is just poor compared to the other shows you named. I haven't seen The Sopranos, but I've seen The Wire and Breaking Bad...
I haven't felt any anxiousness, sympathy or anger while watching any of the "main" characters on TWD die like I've felt from other shows. This is due to me simply not caring about who lives or dies in the show. The Governor died? So what... was his death as memorable as say... Gustavo Fring? Stringer Bell? Hell, Prop Joe? Wallace? Hank? Bodie? Hell no.

Game of Thrones which isn't even listed in your title, also shyts all over TWD when it comes to this. I could go on and on with the characters that died from TWD... and I would just be like
:manny:

And the writing is so meh that I find myself just not caring what happens to these characters going forward in general.

I like Darryl's character, Mishonne is aight, it's a shame that they just now are showing us her backstory... I think that's my major issue with how the show plays out. They really should have fleshed out the main character's backstories along the way more, because now it's as if they only do so when the end is near for one of them... which just makes the show that more predictable. Oh T-Dog is getting sentimental now with more lines in this episode than he's had in the previous 10 combined... cause he's about to die.

I just can't take the show seriously, and I def can't put it in the class of the shows you named.

Mad Men is far superior as well

Spoilers up to season 4 ep 9:

T-dog; i literally hated his charactor and stupid name at first but was :sadcam: when he died
When Carol left I was sad but glad she's gone for the same reasons as above
I was glad Dale died that counts :heh:
When Carol's daughter walked out of that barn as a walker :to:
If Darryl, Rick, or Carl die its gonna be sad, if Darryl dies its damn near BODIE status.

i dunno breh, basically anyone besides rick is insignificant because they just dont do any character development for anyone besides him. hes become such a whiny bytch that i wouldnt even care at this point if he died and carl can :camby: too with his terrible acting. and if darryl dies this show is bushes status...hes really the only thing holding it together

this show is just too inconstant to ever be compared to those other ones you mentioned

Na, breh. Aside from Daryl and maybe Michonne, I don't give a shyt about the rest. And I don't even put enough of my "emotion" into him.

I don't even put all my attention into this show when it's on. BB, Wire, Shield and others have/had me.
Aside from the costume design part, I can't co-sign this thread. :camby:
