MC Ren didn't get much scenes and feel was unfair to him. Less D.O.C. just like MC Ren. And and no Ruthless vs Death Row beef like "Real Mfer G's" vs "Dre Day", etc. Dre beating on women......that's make it seems look worse that he refused to acknowledging it.
Let's say they showed Dr Dre beating up Dee Barnes in the movie and they showed Mc Ren and Eazy E talking about how Dee Barnes deserved to get beat up. Can you imagine the backlash the film would get from that? People wouldn't be saying they enjoyed the movie they would be saying Dre, Ren, and Eazy is a bunch of suckers from the way they handled the situation

Here's footage of Ren and Eazy talking about Dee Barnes

Let's say if they let Bone Thugs and Bg Knocc Out have some input on the movie and show Eazy E from their perspective

Bg Knocc Out said one night him and Eazy E had a show out in Texas and Scarface and his goons came in 200 deep and rushed the stage. They just wanted to be on stage with Eazy and show love but they was wilding out... then Face's goons started beating up people on the dance floor and Eazy E got scared and tried to run and leave Bg and them lol Eazy was so shook he tried to jump over a wall lol
Here's the interview BG said that in
:mjlol:
dubcnn.com // B.G. Knocc Out & Dre'sta (September 2006) // West Coast News Network //

Can you imagine if they put that scene in Straight Outta Compton? Eazy E fans would be furious.
:russ:

Let's say Bone Thugs was in charge of making the movie and they put a scene in there with Bizzy Bone and Eazy E playing around wrestling and Bizzy picked Eazy E up and had him on his shoulder like he was a little ass cabbage patch doll lol
:russ:

If there wasn't actual footage of this online of that happening people would be saying that was fake and skinny ass Bizzy Bone wouldn't never pick a gangsta like Eazy E up in the air
:stopitslime:

20 second mark

My point is no matter who was in charge of the movie or on the set giving input y'all would nitpic at it

I think Dre, Cube, and Tamica did a good job at choosing what they wanted to put in the movie

Good post on Bone Thug scene.

I forgot about Dubcnn forum. I used to post there but not that much

True. At the same time, I understand why Dre didn't want to put in it the movie especially the feminist going on and they will hate him more if they decided to put his past in that movie but however he was in no-no win situation. He could have at least put in him and Dee Barnes just a little bit like just give two slap faces and grabbed her neck..that's all.. But not overdoing it on some like this

If you know what I mean.

Now Michelle has her own movie about Dr.Dre beating on her on Lifetime channel since Dre didn't put her in movie but also, it's about NWA movie and not Dre and however...Michelle was part of the NWA around. She was dating Ice Cube once.

Theres some stuff we just don't need to see in Biopics of rappers we're fans of

You think Biggie fans would wanna see him beating up LiL Kim and pulling a gun out on her in the Notorious movie?

It doesn't matter if you going to make a movie about Bio so at least put the truth to it. That's like you don't want to see George Washington owns slave. shyt man, they got Martin cheated on his wife in Selma movie but at least it's the truth. Do they hate MLK?....No...they still love him. I'm sure they would still love Dr.Dre anyway

It all comes down to what will make the movie more entertaining... and how many real life events can they fit in the movie

I would rather see a scene in the movie of Eazy E shooting his girlfriends car than Dre beating up Dee Barnes

I don't like the way they did Ren. Made him look like an idiot, especially when he wrote a fair amount of material prior to Cube leaving. He might as well have been an extra behind the scenes the way they portrayed him.
the film was more so a Cube,Dre Eazy biopic

Ren and Yella were just....there

and D.o.c was only used to bring Suge and Dre together smh

My Pops Forever RIP
Temptations movie was also a three-part miniseries that runs almost 5 hrs. long. If it was movie-length, at almost 2 1/2 hours, half the stuff in the Temps movie wouldn't have been in it.

Even in the Bryant situation, his departure was what caused Ruffin to be added to the group. Did Arabian Prince's departure affect NWA to any effect?
And we came to find out much of that movie was straight up lies and/or exaggeration from Otis

A lot of people are focusing on trivial things and anecdotes and missing @Bugsmoran s point.

- Too much shyt went down to put everything and everyone in 1 movie.
- Cube, Dre and Eazy got more focus because....they also ALWAYS got more focus in real life. Y'all Ren riders don't go as hard claiming y'all want more Yella in the movie.

For what we got, this imperfect movie was still dope as fukk and set a new standard for HipHop movies. It made Notorious and the Pac movie look like shyt and overal told the NWA story. The fact that Mc Ren and Yella wasn't in it as much is a part of the NWA legacy :yeshrug:

It wasn't a documentary.

It's a decent movie with all they had to pick from, but it's definitely slanted.

What I don't like is:

1. As was said, they made Ren look like he was just Eazy's stooge - and not The Villain.

Ren looked like Eazy's closes homie like he was during the Nwa days

It's a classic in the sense it's a great watch as a piece of entertainment.

But you can't call it a true portrayal without more emphasis on the business acumen, post NWA of the late Eazy E :yeshrug:
To keep it real Jerry Heller was really running the business at Ruthless

I heard more than a few Ruthless artist say that. Even Bg Knocc Out said that

Eazy was a good business man as far as coming up with good ideas for the label, marketing, Deciding what artist to sign to the label

That's not what I'm disputing...what I'm saying is, they had a couple scenes where the only reason Ren says anything is to set up something for Eazy to say. There was literally a scene in there where Ren walks up to Eazy on the side and says something like "what we gon' do now, boss"-type chit like he was Bebop or Rocksteady talking to Shredder. There was no character development for Ren.

That doesn't sit well with me because all the takeaway from this movie for know-notters is Ren was Eazy's friend and he got a whole verse of "No Vaseline" written about him for some reason.
