Yup. I remember the corny wannabe hard dudes telling me jay > nas cuz "jay a hustla, he gets money". Dude inspired a whole generation with his semi deep wannabe nas self.

Breh, it's to the point I have a hard time finding anybody my age that actually takes their jobs/careers seriously.

Everything's a hustle.

Teachers out here hustling, principals, school board presidents, pastors, mailmen, auto mechanics, shyts terrible.

Bond with jewellers and, watch for intruders

Recruited lieutenants with ludicrous, dreams of
Gettin cream let's do this, it gets tedious
So I keep one eye open like, C-B-S, ya see me
Stressed right? Can I live?
Can I live?
Can I live?
Can I live?

No Father To MY Style.. A Son Unique
This line nails it.

When I heard Rakim, Melle Mel, Kane, Nas, I wanted to be an emcee.

When you hear Jay Z, you want to be a hustler. The music aspect is irrelevant.
Yup. Thats why i cringe when people put jay z up there as a goat. His best albums are bites of the best mcs and he has a career of mediocrity behind him. Dudes whole draw is based on being a former drug dealer, he gets rich and he makes fake movie sound tracks, illuminati music, ghey art shyt and now he on the black power tip

Nothing this man has done has EVER been genuine i feel like. Even his marriage seems like a sham.

Btw yur avi/name is mad funny

It's a matter of perspective, as a young 'un Jay was aspirational. Watching him go from another rapper to co-owning and being extremely successful with Rocafella records & clothing, cashing out and then doing it all over again with Roc Nation and Tidal was the only hustle I saw. One every black youth can look to emulate.

If all you got from him was slanging dope i'd argue you were being willfully myopic

I think that maybe I would have felt better about the usage of such provocative racial imagery in "The Story of OJ" if he didn't use a white director for it, bypassing Ryan Coogler, Hype, Benny Boom, Paris Barclay, Spike Lee, Ava Duvernay, Malcolm Lee, Paul Hunter, Julie Dash, John Singleton, Carl Franklin,
Kevin Bray, etc.

Wondering if Mark's supersize checks from RocNation are signed "Still A nikka."

Mark Romanek

After weeks of hints, teases, trailers, and promos, JAY-Z has dropped his latest album “4:44” — available only on streaming service Tidal — along with a much-hyped visual accompaniment in the form of an animated music video directed by the rapper and Mark Romanek.

While expectations long held that JAY-Z would deliver a full visual album to match the new album, likely drawing inspiration from his own wife Beyonce’s work on her lauded “Lemonade,” a lush and compelling visual album that accompanied her latest album while standing magnificently on its own, the result appears to be something much slimmer and more traditional.

So how does this cracker co-directing the video change the message? If it doesn't vhange the message then what's your point? Why throw shade? I'm honestly tryna understand your perspective here.

This is the only problem I had with the video. I also have an issue with the push of the Jewish community - talent and business. Jews are buying up Black media everyday and already own a lot of our media companies low-key. They are also collaborators in the creation of those same images he protrayed in the video - so that did make me feel some type of way.

I read this yesterday: Jay-Z's Got 99 Problems but Anti-Semitism Ain't One

and from reading that - I know it's an approved partnership between Jay-Z and them - because they are literally making sure their media and people know Jay-Z is cool and to cool the breaks if any Jewish people may feel some type of way about his new song since he mentions "You ever wonder why Jewish people own all the property in America? This how they did it."

Yet, they could care less how Black people are portrayed and the Jews have locked us out of wealth creation since out beginnings here in America.

So, that is the part of Jay I hope he starts to break from - but I also know that it's a process and time - cause they literally control things that allow for decisions to be made and money to be exchanged.

It's tricky and he has to be smart about breaking ties in the future.

Awesomeness
:heh: at whining about people name calling you....................then admitting that you're bitter and petty. If cats would've described you as being bitter and petty before you admitted it, you would've ran that "you calling me names over my opinion" shyt. Nah, it's just obvious that you're being bitter and petty without your confession. Everything you've said is bullshyt:russ:

Still to some, actions speak louder than words.

If Mark Romanek is the only creative who could have interpreted Jay's vision for his version of black empowerment, then what
exactly is the message of the video?

Just trying to figure it out.

Why didn't you answer my simple question?

Why did you create that straw man in bold? Who has said that?

Respect....its just like the T.I shyt for me....I feel he dropped a conscious album to capitalize off the social climate....i never bought that shyt and just by watching how he moved I felt like he was faking the funk, if it was real he would've been left outta Antman 2 with the quickness ....i love Jay z and I hope he's genuine but it takes more to convince me...you can't spit black empowerment then be extra friendly with these white folks...its a conflict of interest...Colin kaepernick stay pissing these people off...got kicked out the league and everything and he clearly doesn't give a fukk...his name ain't in the news and he still kicking that black power vibe....still fighting the good fight and I support him for that, to the point I'm not supporting the NFL in any shape or form.... Jay tho...these cacs ain't batting a eyelash at his "wokeness"...and that sets my radar off....
The TIP effort was REALLY good though
