Stone Cold is OVERRATED

After reading the other Austin threads this needed it's own thread. Some of you really think Austin is the GOAT?

To be the GOAT you need longevity, Austin was great for 3 years from 97-99. How can you be the GOAT when your elite for only 3 years? People think the attitude era was the most popular the WWF was which is wrong. The WWF was the most popular in the late 80's, Austin is nowhere near the draw Hogan was. Everything that Austin did in and out of the ring The Rock did it better. The Rock was a bigger draw then Austin in the Attitude era and the numbers don't lie. If it wasn't for The Rock the WWF may have not even beaten WCW in the Monday Night Wars. Austin is jealous of The Rock because of this and even Howard Stern called him out on it during an interview a few years ago.

To be the GOAT you also have to be one of the best heels ever and best faces ever and Austin fails in this category again. Guys Like Macho Man, The Rock, Hogan, HBK all could be the most loved and most hated at a snap of a finger that makes them one of the best. Austin is one of the best faces ever but he's not one of the best heels.

Austin had an epic 3 year run maybe the best run ever but guys like Macho Man, Hogan, the Rock, HBK, Flair had better careers. A lot of people overrate Austin due to nostalgia of them being teens during the Attitude Era which Austin was the "leader" of. Austin also took his ball and went home because he didn't wanna put someone over that's not something the GOAT would do.

Austin carried the E when HBK and Bret weren't there to do it. He helped make Rock a star and has been great at all points of his career. fukk off

Though not my favorite wrestler, I always thought people considered Hulk Hogan the GOAT just because he became such a pop culture phenomenon


But Stone Cold in wrestling kinda reminds me of Shaq in basketball where he had a span of years where he was the most dominant of all time.

Stunning Steve was good but people overrate his WCW days based on what he became he failed in WCW period. If he never became Stone Cold nobody would talk about Stunning Steve. Austin got very lucky to even make it if it wasn't for the KLIQ Austin probably would've failed in WWF as well. If the Stone Cold gimmick didn't work he probably would've been released. If HHH didn't get punished and get booked out of winning the King Of The Ring Austin doesn't get to make his speech that got him his huge push.

I got him behind The Rock, Hogan, Macho Man, and Flair. Those guys had better longer CAREERS then Austin he's def overrated.

It's all about personal preference, so there are no right or wrong answers.

But Austin has to be among the contenders for the title of GOAT on anyone's list. Best draw and best merch seller during the era of best business.
