No? The bonus that was meant to subsidize the considerable loss of income millions suffered after the shutdowns ended on August 1st, 2020. Since then, millions have succumbed to massive debt, many of them living off of credit cards. Those people must be made whole or the stimulus is meaningless.

What were people doing with the extra $600 they had for months? I can tell you what a lot of people I know were doing and it wasn't spending it on bills and it wasn't saving it...

Unless you made I think 50k or so that extra 600 was a pay raise. Should have saved it. if you had a job making 50k I would imagine it required some degree of knowledge or skill that you could lateral into another job in said field or another.
