Because Arch isn’t going anywhere to play school especially not in Baton Rouge. Also there is no QB developer at LSU. Not anyone the Mannings would trust Arch with. Basically it was going to be either Sark, Monken, or wherever Cutcliffe may have ended up as an analyst or something.

Despite being a former UT football player, mattress Mack gives way more money to the University of Houston and only mentions his connection to UT when it’s very convenient for him. He has yet to donate to UT NIL efforts and is basically funding UH Basketball NIL.

Most college coaches are pompus a$$holes and outside of Saban they don't stay very long, how long has Texas kept its last 4 coaches?

:skip: Brehs cmon man. Lane isn’t professional and immature. Texas has changed coaches because they haven’t performed. How many times have Lane left for the next best opportunity. Ole Miss just had to reup because otherwise he’d be head football coach at Auburn. You really think Ole Miss is Lanes destination school?? Manning believe Sark will get it right and they trust Arch in his hands. They weren’t about to sign up for the Lane experience.

Every coach accept Saban is moving up.
Hell Harbaugh is at his dream job and almost left 2 straight years after winning the conference, beating OSU, and getting into the playoffs.
That is how college is, outside of Saban currently everyone is looking to go where the money is.

Lane could definitely develop Arch while he is there, and most likely wouldn't leave as long as he had him, especially if he was as good as promised.

I doubt it was the reason he didn't choose Ole Miss.
I'm thinking he just wanted to do his own thing, sort of like Peyton going to UT instead of Ole Miss.
