Bill Belichick is a great football coach (and would also be a good analyst) he did not have any real football career.
Same with Mike Tomlin, Andy Reid, Pete Carroll, etc.
These are football references but the same would be true for basketball. Being a former player helps and is a benefit, but not a requirement.
Yeah, he did not sure he played at all on the team or played a high competitive level would have to look it up.
been surrounded by football since like he was a young kid. Young was breaking down film, while his classmates were looking under rocks looking for insects.
Bill played nose tackle in college, Tomlin played wide receiver in college, Andy Reid played the game as well and Pete Carroll if I remember played multi sports at a college and university.
Not helping the case there breh. They all played at very high levels.
What does "high competitive level" mean?
Going back to my original example, Belichick played college football at Wesleyan University which is D3, does that count?
Stephen A Smith, I believe played D2.
I agree with you on this.
But they didn't play pro. Didn't Stephon say you need to be an NBA player?
Understand, we just chopping it up hard to say what would qualify as at a certain level.
But seems Stephen never played all and Bill even though a tier 3 school played numerous sports.
