It's a lot of people out here fukking, a lot, that don't know what they are doing. Plenty of chicks that aren't nutting, despite taking all kinds of dikk.

Those that can't do teach. People that can do, very often don't think about how and why they do, they just do. Now that being said, I do believe that there are certain lines that analysts that never played shouldn't cross. You shouldn't be calling dudes names and questioning dude's manhood if you never even sniffed their level.

Bill Belichick is a great football coach (and would also be a good analyst) he did not have any real football career.
Same with Mike Tomlin, Andy Reid, Pete Carroll, etc.

These are football references but the same would be true for basketball. Being a former player helps and is a benefit, but not a requirement.

most of those you named played in college though.

To an extent. There are things some analyst speak on (and fans) that we have no business talking about. Some locker room dynamics shyt can't very broken down by someone who isn't experienced in it. The more I watch the "I am Athlete" podcast, the "no chill gil" podcast and the "old men and the three" podcast, I've realized how incredibly underdeveloped the normal sports analysis we are used to is. The perspective from the inside out is so much more complete than the opposite.

I think there are some bare bones analysis that can be taken from analysts who've never played, but the real shyt needs to be left to the people who've done it. Or the analysts who take the time and have the respect enough to go through the proper channels to learn how to really break things down. You won't find these dudes on espn or fox sports for the most part. Even the former players have sold out to dumb everything down. Go on YouTube and you'll find former players really giving you real valuable insight

I know pros are a whole different level so keep that in mind when I say this:

If you ever played even HS sports you probably knew someone that was good but wouldn't be able to analyze anything if their life depended on it. I played LB in HS and called the D and I had DBs that couldn't tell you what a stunt, slant or a run fit was and I had DL who couldn't even tell you the difference between man and zone coverage. They'd be 'nikka I don't know that shyt I just get the QB'. Even now my son plays high level ball and has teammates who can hoop 1 on 1 but couldn't tell you how to run a single set. Lot of people that can play and can't teach/explain/break down. Lots of folks that can't play and can.

He’s wrong. Just because you didn’t play the sport doesn’t mean you can’t speak on it. If that’s the case then a lot of people shouldn’t speak on a lot of things.
