Just got done. It was cool I guess. I feel like those lil dudes would kill a goonies remake though.
Facts. This is why, with an R rating tailored more to young adults, I was hoping they'd move away from the jump scare/CGI shyt a little more. What works for us (in my opinion) is the stuff that is slightly unnerving. One part of the book involved Ben seeing the clown standing off in the distance with balloons floating into the wind. Again, it's sort of like what Eddie sees here:
You don't need a damn crescendo of music for a scene like this. This is seen is perfect because you can see yourself walking somewhere solo and wondering wtf you'd do if you saw some random ass dude in a clown suit across the way from you.
nikkas just nitpicking bro.can't take the reviews of some of you who clearly don't watch horror films or explore the genre of horror seriously. the "it wasn't scary" - wtf, really, your 25+ yr old ass is expecting to piss yourself....or didn't have enough killing/weird torture porn shyt? that's not all horror is.
edit: and the breh complaining that none of the kids got killed...wtf
Oh ok . Yeah your right . The losers are special that's why it "fears " them their bond makes them strong and hard for him to killI think @shopthatwrecks is saying that the generation of kids that had to deal with It 27 years before the Loser's Club didn't try to fight, and just chalked up all the death and missing bodies in Derry as part of the life there.
I think part of the answer is that
More of this is likely to be explained in the next one, but It/Pennywise has been terrorizing Derry for so long, that It has also sort of put a spell over the people there. We already saw that It can influence people to do things, like it did with Henry (the bully) and so the book heavily implies or even outright says that It has power of Derry and the people there. In fact, news about missing people and deaths in Derry don't even really get outside of the city onto national newspapers and TV stations. The book implies that Derry is sort of like a bubble that's separated from the rest of the country. You can leave and come back, but when you're inside, there's sort of a spell that's been cast over the place.
Because you have to be a junkie to study
I'll add on:
Gremlins (the kitchen scene )
Chucky
Beetlejuice (the snake scene)
Tales from the Crypt
Does he say, "Kiss me Fat boy!" ??
I have not seen it but weird that people are saying its more funny than scary ...
