Silence of the Lambs won Best Picture in 1992, but many consider that to be more of a thriller with horror movie elements. Other than that? No. The Exorcist was nominated, but lost to The Sting and JAWS was nominated. but lost to One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest.

Gottdammit I have to stop checking this thread early in the morning like this. That was really fukking creepy. Pennywise came off much more true to how he written in the books. Much more animalistic than silly clown. This shyt is gonna be amazing.
The exorcist was nominated.
The closest to horror that won best picture was silence of the lambs.
