prime AI was a much better player then current curry
curry benefits from having a very good team, a very complete team & a team with minimal weakness
while AI played with rag tag types -he took an old mutumbo, ty hill, george lynch, eric snow, theo raff, aaron mckie to da finals

while curry is playing with 3times the amount if talent around him
several all stars
couple of Olympic/USA national team mates
runner up for defensive player of the year

i mean i personaly dont think it us even close when comparing da two
add da fact AI played most of his career in da hand check era
which i can say with much confidence curry would struggle against
ai was not in the hand check era. stop that nonsense. AI came in during the change from the handcheck era to the armbar era. not the exact same thing. still tougher then what it is now i'll agree there. but its not old school derek harper hand checking every night.

curry is being handchecked right now by delle, and manhandled. He had one bad game and that was the end of that. more rain, more splash.

AI's 3ball was suspect. sure he was clutch. i will always give him that. But he aint no curry. nope. he just aint.

AI and curry got about the same defense. quick hands that can get steals and thats about it. but because curry is a bigger dude. he can play slightly better defense then AI ever could (thats just dna, like how lebron's size , and kd's size is just dna. it is what it is)

Most pg's are not even thinking about posting up curry. S.livingston would take little AI to the block RIGHT NOW if AI was in his prime today. thats a fact. again Curry isnt a short pg. so the odds of a tall guard trying to post curry up is slim(again not AI's fault. its dna.)

Yes gstates team is a better team. i'll agree with that. But the way AI has played his entire LIFE. college too. suggests that AI could never play on a very very good team with other really good scorers. He had to have the ball in his hands way to much. curry can come off of screens and turn into Ray allen/Rip Hamilton/JJ Reddikk and play off ball to klay on a hot klay night. could AI do that? No. Yes AI use to run around similar screens. but not to get open for a jumper. that was to get the main guy the ball since everyone knew he was going to handle the ball. so they tried to deny him the entry passes from out of bounds. so they would run him off of screens to get guys off of him so they could give him the ball back so he could run the show.

AI to me never seemed like the kind of guard you could win a ring with as good as he was. Its the Carmelo thing. Great scorer. but thats about it. but because he was a hood icon and a small guy in nba terms. he was the people's champ. so most will never admit to this or most cant admit to it even though its true.

LASTly, AI got a lot of calls. a lot he didnt deserve. he got them because he was a very fraile dude going into the teeth of the defense. So they gave him the benefit of the doubt. curry is not going to get that same benefit since he's just a bit larger then AI was and its noticeable. curry doesnt look like a little fella going into the paint. perception is a lot when it comes to how they officiate you.

naw i aint done yet. let me also add what i already said. but a bit more detail. the reason you should choose curry over steph, is because AI could have never played with a better player then himself that played in the paint(a big man) or another shooter like klay that needed his touches to get hot and stay hot. If he did that, AI would no longer be able to put up 30 ppgs. The only reason he scored like that was because he shot the ball so many times. i understand his teams did not have other scorers on them. and who's fault was that? his entire career until he got old and helped out melo for a hot second. when your best player is a short shooting guard that cant shoot the 3 ball that well = a guy that only penetrates. means everyone else on the team has to be a shooter or a rebounder. but you cant have any other stars on your team when thats your #1guy. that style of play from a short shooting guard has never worked, and will never work in the nba.

curry is a much better shooter overall as well as 3pt shooter. curry is a known chucker yet he has a much higher fg% then AI did rushing the rim and getting to the ft line like crazy. Keep your 30 points shooting that awful percent from 3. meaning you cant space the floor for anyone. meaning all they have to do to you when the game is on the line is sit in the paint and put one guy on you to contest your jumper(which is easy.you're not that tall.)

for AI to play with lets say prime shaq. AI would have to be able to hit jumpshots consistently. he couldnt do that consistently. he surely couldnt hit that 3 consistently. what happens when he doesnt have the ultra green light and he cant shoot himself out of slumps. that means AI has to hit 3's when he hasnt taken 10 shots already. some guys are the types that can score well only when they know they can get ALL of the shots they need to heat back up after a bad stretch. There is no room for that if Shaq is your big man. so tha tmeans AI would be average 22 ppg still shooting low super low 40's, and shooting a shakey 3pt %.

you steph shaq and he's probably going to win rings. because you cant guard him, and you cant double shaq. he will light you up from 3. this spaces the floor tremendously. this is why he can play with anyone and still be a monster.

quiet as kept based on stats you would want tony parker more than you would AI. cause at least TP scored at a big man like rate with his high Fg% for a little guy going into the paint all the time. so even with his shaky 3 ball. he could sit on 50% as a semi short shooting guard. so now you're looking at TP like he's just a short jordan before the 3 ball started to hit. thats not bad. still won win anything as the main gun. but it looks better than AI chucking like a mad man to get his 30.

What's it even mean to be the face of the NBA? Popularity? IMO the face of the league is who you picture when someone says "NBA". For me its definitely not Curry, despite his peak in popularity and accomplishments this year.

Lol, it ain't fair, but Curry is a victim of his own success, like all the greats. Lebron go to 5 straight finals with losing record, be called LeChoke or whatever. Curry is the 3-point gawd... be remembered strictly as the best shooter in the world instead of best player in the world. For me its an easy out to call Steph the best shooter, because then I don't have to call him the best player. At times, Curry's game almost seems "gimmicky" because he's so good at 3s, lol. Like I said, victim of his own success.

FWIW, when you say NBA, the first superstars that come to mind are Lebron then KD. But I am a KD stan, so maybe I'm biased. :sas2:
you're talking about kobe. who is a true victim of his own success plus the hate from the MJ is the best and no one can ever match him fans.

kobe gave you amazing games, after amazing games, after amazing clutch plays, after amazing clutch plays. and because he kept doing it time and time again. you got so use to it. when he would drop 30. it was like ehhhh nothing special. but you see when bron hits 30. "look at lebron go. he's the king" thats espn supporting their baby.

kobe drops 40. its not even on the front page of nba.com. I've seen this happen. why? because its Ehhh 40? he aint drop 70.

kobe gets 50.oh thats cool.

bron gets 50. "Buuu buuu Bron Is the KINGGGGG he just dropped 50 on em."

This nucca kobe out scored a high scoring basketball team in 3 qtrs of play and his coach had to sit him down before the other team got mad and started trying to hurt him. IN SANE. and people acting like but but bron is better, is so and so better than kobe. STOP IT. when you get use to a dude dropping 40. you already know who the great one is.

NBA fooled you all into rooting for a rich kid from NBA lineage

Bron is from the gutter and is one of us that truly made it, yet you all hate him now

fukking scust
Man, shut the fukk up. Curry has worked for everything he has right now. You act like he was some highly touted prospect coming out of Highschool.

For someone that vehemently campaigns for the past, I'm pleasantly surprised by this post. :leon:

are you delusional
I can't believe that shyt you just wrote

first & formal
I love the way you ignore the teammates issue from your original post you explained how Curry has taken his team to the NBA finals and about to win a chip at this young age blah blah blah while shytting on Iverson like he couldn't do what Curry is doing now but then when I post Iverson's teammates from when he took his team to the NBA 01's finals -you say nothing which proves my point that you're OP made no sense
AI never had the ability to play with the talent that curry has

secondly
and what the hell are you talking about that he didn't play under da hand check rule
from what I remember the hand check was abolished in the mid 00's he was drafted in 96 so he played roughly / close to a decade under those rules
you need to stop that bullshyt about curry is getting hand check now in today's NBA finals because you know if you breathe on him they will call a foul

lastly
you must be trolling or really never watch Iverson play to say curry is a better defender especially based in it off curry being an inch taller I mean that is just asinine because we all know and this is not even debatable that AI was utterly a far superior athlete who could jump higher was faster was quicker and more endurance etc. etc.
