I remember he was on Best Damn Sports Show Period. Then ESPN scooped him up and his first run there was just as good as his current run, so much they gave him his own talk show.


That show bombed hard though and he kind of went into abyss after that where I think for awhile he returned to Philly covering Philly sports for one of the local outlets.

Woody Paige deciding the morning thing wasn't his forte was the best thing to happen to Stephen honestly.


Cuz eventually after Woody left and ESPN centered 1st and 10 to First Take and turned it into Skip's show, Stephen A came in and was the perfect counter host to Skip. His career regained momentum and now he's well deserved about to be ESPN's highest paid analyst.

Not at all. Nor did I miss the times when he had bags on under his eyes and had to be nudged on air to stay awake. ESPN run this nikka like a mule, so sure he should be getting paid more than anyone there

Exactly and it's not just talking about sports. You also have to sit in production meetings and do a whole bunch of behind the scenes stuff we don't see. Plus there's a freedom limitation when you work for ESPN.

Fax. SAS has his ups and downs in his career, can't forget he looked out for AI a lot too. So he's had some real nikka in him at times

I think it really was Skip that helped him with that. When he was first coming on First Take, he'd look at Skip like he was retarded, kill all his points easily, and never raise his voice

Couple weeks of special guest, and he suddenly starts playing to Skip, making faces, memes, bringing in props, getting loud, making just enough points to make it a good argument, without killing it completely

Next thing you know he's added as the second guy and the rest is history. Since Max has been on, you can see Max leaning more towards WWE shyt now with his antics... And SAS surprisingly isn't as wild and crazy as he was with Skip

I think they found their perfect pairing with these two between knowledge and pure fukkery for ratings
