Nick Khan came out and said that it's going to be difficult to sell to a programming conglomerate due to the TV contract situation being spread out between NBC/Universal and FOX. If they sell to one of them, it'll likely be whenever the TV deals are coming up. They could sell sooner to a party/individual like the Saudis, Khans or whoever else.

This was going around twitter today that a Morgan Stanley report showed a breakdown of the cost of Smackdown to Fox and how its lost money year on year. Thurston mentions though this is the norm for live sports and both AEW and WWE are going through it
My thing is though given what you hear about big enterainment companies already losing money thanks to streaming, how much more are companies that also networks still willing to lose sports on live tv in the next go round of negotiations?

It’s been reported the man initially budgeted to lose $100M over 5 years ($20M per year). Add in the investment in the video game. Ridiculous talent overhead (Count how many people up there 1-3Ms a year plus the ones that were getting 5 a year) which probably cuts into the TV deal and production cost.
Where’s the revenue coming in? PPVs do well because they are glorified mark conventions but in the grand scheme of things it’s a tear in the bucket in regards to the money being spent. Dynamite doesn’t do well consistently attendance wise.
The only reason it’s not talked about is because they are privately held and the dirtsheets don’t want them to look funny in the light.
Have some common sense bro. If WCW lost Millions in 1999 and they drew better houses and had more eyeballs on their product, do you really think AEWs balance sheet is in the black?

TK had to stop financing the game because it was costing too much money. Just because his dad is a billionaire doesn't mean he has an unlimited supply of money. They only get 45mil a year from WBD, and that gets eaten up quickly.
