Are we sure Steph is even better than peak Dwade? He‘s gotta clear that before he gets to Kobe. Kobe played at an elite level for about 15 years. Steph been elite for about half that time. Kobe also was a 2 way player with multiple FMVPs and that’s gotta matter at this level. So as much as I wanna slide Steph past Kobe im not gonna be able to do it...

Steph is a great, historic player, and the best shooter ever, but he's also played on some very well-constructed teams. Hell, Klay is (or was) like if Peja was an elite defender. Most recent teams besides the Spurs or Raptors with Kawhi haven't been well-constructed IMO. Kobe was truly dazzling to watch. You could put more of a burden on him than Steph, IMO.

Lebron gets criticized for forming super teams.
MJ somehow gets criticized because he had Pip.
Kobe got criticized for playing with Shaq. Then when Shaq was gone, he got criticized for putting up big numbers with bums. Then when the bums went away, he got criticized for the Lakers acquiring Pau.
Steph gets criticized now because he's "played on some very well-constructed teams."
Don't get me wrong, debating top 10 lists is great, but only if fakkits like you stay out of the conversation.

Why would we need to do all that? Steph had a better career...will go down higher on the all time rankings. But he wasn’t seeing Peak Dwade. Peak Dwade is damn near on MJ level. I’m actually glad Steph never had to go against that Dwade...woulda been nightmare matchup for him.

A curry lead team has the regular season wins record despite losing the finals that year.

Curry may end up with the same amount of rings as Kobe with better finals statistics.

Curry is the best to ever do it at the most important ability in the sport.

Shaq was more important than Kobe in at least 2 of their 3 rings. Theres the classic argument of KD vs Curry in their rings but I think that discussion is far closer than the Kobe-Shaq debate.

I dont really know what to make of a Klay vs Pau debate but I think Curry and Klay beating the Cavs with LeBron is more impressive than Kobe, Pau and Odom beating the Magic with Howard but probably less impressive than Kobe beating the Celtics.

When looking at these factors, people have to objectively admit that it is at the very least very close. If you prefer a players playing style and intangibles and like them more that is fine and more than acceptable. To some extent these ranking debates tend to devolve into subjectivity anyway.
