I think you're giving Ock too much credit for being an arrogant prick who felt like only the big crimes needed to be handled. there are no big crimes, bad guys are bad guys, whether they wear costumes or ski masks

And that all depends on Slott breh.

Heroes can't stop everything and Doc Ock realized the concept of maximizing time and energy. He WAS an arrogant prick but he was very effective at his job, at least as good as Spidey. Even now in the Edge of Spider-Verse story, HE'S the one organizing the Spider-Men getting things together, Peter would have never even thought of that on his own. Not saying Ock is BETTER than Peter, but he is better at a LOT of things and they are at least comparable overall.

I don't like Peter in the Avengers though for real. I don't like him as a part of any team. He doesn't fit well in that dynamic especially because the writers immediately make him into a quip machine and take out any of the great character stuff, they just make him jokes jokes and jokes

Many character personalities are limited in Avenger titles but I'm talking way back in the 80s before Bendis took over. Cap has wanted to recruit Spidey on the team since the Stan Lee days, but Spidey kept fukking up his auditions and getting into petty fistfights with members because he felt insecure. My point is that that is a character flaw of Spidey's, he constantly makes things about himself instead of the bigger issue. He HAS gotten better over the years but I've come to realize its just an aspect of the character and a sign that maybe the character isn't for me, which is why I'm often "meh" with him. But that's not a knock to the greatness of the character, but its a personal reason why he's not #1 on my GOAT list.

Well to be fair to Peter breh, he just found out about all of this lol. He just got roped in in issue 1. They came to him last because all roads led to him.

But I feel you on the last point, every character isn't for everybody

Jeph Loeb RUINS every series I ever loved.

It's like EVERYTIME I dig a series, Jeph Loeb does a run and RUINS it.

(Ultimates, X-Force)

DC should've kept "Secret Six" in the New 52 and put it in the same "unaffected bubble" as Green Lantern & Batman's titles.

Marvel is sabotaging it's most visible characters (Wolverine is dead, Thor walks around with no shirt carrying an axe which will confuse ppl who were brought in because

of the movies, "New Thor" is a woman, Fantastic Four getting canceled, Captain America is an old man, which again will confuse ppl who were brought in because of the

movies."

I'm probably the biggest Wolverine fan here or possibly on the internet lol, but I agree with @R=G

They already killed him off, keep him dead for a while or else it was pointless to kill him off in the first place.

And Magneto is going through a character revival now and even has a flourishing solo title too. Magneto may evolve into a different character entirely when its all said and done, Erik Lehnsherr (I refused to call him Max, lol) ain't goin nowhere
Logan will be back by next summer and Magnus Hussein will be back to his old bs as soon as Professor X is back....which won't be for a while, but it's coming :smugdraper:

I'm loving Magneto going back to a boss again.

Can't wait till his powers get fixed back to normal.

:heh: Peter Parker isn't a tragic character because all this horrible shyt keeps happening to him.

He's a tragic character because he manufactures his own Karma.

He's the Joe Budden of comics.

Lol, that's my point and you summarized it better than I could.

Parker is a very likeable person but in any other medium he would be considered a Loser. He's the Charlie Brown of comics :lolbron:

The Ultimate Universe was a growing cash cow for Marvel and Loeb singlehandedly fukked that up. What he did was bad creatively and bad business, THAT is unforgivable
