Gambit is someone who should of stayed dead after Wolverine carved him up in X-Men 200

Stop playing Rogue like she's a damn foil for Scarlet Witch. Holy shyt.

Bring back Nate Grey

Bring Back Stryfe

Keep Wolverine dead for the next 6 years at least

The Hulk stories have been boring since Planet Hulk

Superman fukking SUCKS...Action Comics..the Wonder Woman team up book...yuck

Silk is something to watch out for

Sue Richards needs to have an affair while her personality is altered right now

What the fukk is this shyt with Kitty Pryde and Starlord?

Rachel Summers should be pushed hard

Stop using the damn clone excuse when Thanos loses
We cool except for this...I mean who else is gonna stab Magneto in the gut while he gives that same tired old monologue when he thinks he's about to win?

He was a kid breh, what you expect

I expect better.

Seriously tho, its not the initial flaws that I really take issue with, its the constant repetition of the same mistakes which I get annoyed about Spider-Man. He's actively made his own life harder by not developing his interpersonal skills and refusing to learn "how the game" is played.

Uncle Ben was an avoidable yet tragic situation, but so much of his life hardships could have been avoided had he just stood up for himself in key moments that he always faltered to do. I mean, I could expand on this if you'd like, but it just irks me and is a personal pet peeve of mine when someone had MAJOR potential and they continually waste it away doing dumb shyt. There is really no reason Peter Parker couldn't or shouldn't have a family with Mary Jane and a lil mini Stark level empire but because he wouldn't do simple shyt like go to his last few college classes to finish his doctorate or humble himself to work with established veteran heroes constantly knocks him back to square one.

Its frustrating, lol.

I can get with everything else you said though although maybe not entirely on that 90s thing. But even then you have a point

Think about it, all the major Marvel and DC properties of the 90s were and STILL ARE some of the top properties in comics today in 2014. What messed things up was the large amount of indy imitators and the major companies being threatened by competition rather than sticking to their guns and keeping the characters true to their core. BUT long run, it was an experimental stage for the industry and I think its better NOW for the struggles they went through.

The hard times make you stronger and appreciate the prosperity age comics are having now

So many people would do that if they spontaneously got powers though, at least he didn't go full :demonic: with it.

I wouldn't even be trying to :cape: if I had powers.

Well that's the difference between so many heroes and Spidey.

Like when guys like Cap, the FF, Iron Man, Daredevil, etc. ALL of these guys, when they first got their powers, their first thoughts were to do selfless acts to help their country, family, communities, etc. Spidey's first intentions were of selfish intent.

I'm not saying its not realistic, I'm saying its not heroic. And I've noticed constant selfish twinges of his personality that seep through so many of his defining stories. I appreciate it as its an untapped layer of depth to the character but its annoying as a veteran hero that he still repeats the same mistakes constantly

Lol so your issue isn't with Peter, it's with the editorial and the Marvel brass because he had a wife which got retconned..he had a kid which got retconned. Peter can only grow but so much because Quesada and the guy following him have decided that anytime Peter gets to that point of marriage and kids, he then becomes less accessible to younger readers and "less interesting"

And as far as making his life harder, I think that's actually a character thing. Pete feels a lot of guilt for a lot of stuff so he doesn't always allow himself to be happy and of course he thinks the world would cease to exist if he took a day off. When Ock took over and found efficient ways to be spider-man and Pete came back and Anna showed him all of it, he agreed with some of it but not with all of it. Mostly because he refused to admit Ock found a way to do something better than him and maybe we'll get that but right now the spider-verse is going on so we'll have to see what he does after it's over

I'm probably the biggest Wolverine fan here or possibly on the internet lol, but I agree with @R=G

They already killed him off, keep him dead for a while or else it was pointless to kill him off in the first place.

And Magneto is going through a character revival now and even has a flourishing solo title too. Magneto may evolve into a different character entirely when its all said and done, Erik Lehnsherr (I refused to call him Max, lol) ain't goin nowhere

I disagree with the latter part but as far as the former, it makes sense for him to be selfish initially because he wanted to make some money to help out the family and help himself. This is a 16 year old kid who was beat up, made fun of, and poked at his entire life. He was the outcast so it makes sense for him to want to cash in on something life finally gave him. Selfish definitely but also completely understandable

The retcons have really hurt the character IMO, but its COMICS so a string of quality writers can erase the bad shyt, but its the constant circle that gets annoying IMO. But as a business man I understand how and why its business first, but as a comic fan it bothers me :yeshrug:

THIS is the core of my problem, if a real person had these same traits, EVERYONE including us in this thread would call that guy a loser. We ALL have hardships we go through, but they are supposed to forge us into something stronger and Spidey constantly wilts and tries to get "do-overs". It IS part of his character to be self depreciating and constantly in depression but in the grand scheme of things or even compared to his peers like Wolverine and Daredevil, he doesn't have things THAT bad.

And I'm behind in "Amazing" right now but you put just another perfect example of Peter's personality flaws on his refusal to admit someone did things better than him. That is something he's done since the early 90s, but its a self defeating mindset to think that you can't learn and improve from your mistakes.

To be fair though breh, it's Ock. He admitted it to himself that some of Ock's methods worked even though he wouldn't publicly give him credit for it but he also acknowledges that Ock's methods caused the Green Goblin to bubble underneath his feet and nearly destroy the city. He said he'd take some of the methods but before he could really get into it, the crossover happened.

Well breh, he carries it around with him, which I don't have a problem with. He's got a PhD now and his own company. He's made plenty of strides but like you said, it takes a great writer to do something with him and JMS did the most good with him in my opinion. He really grew during that run and he's starting to grow with Slott's run but hands are tied due to editorial mandates

Lol, he WASN'T making money for his family, he was purely out for himself. This is straight from Spider-Man #1

Early comics tended to be pretty heavy handed as far as teaching morals and Aesop's but the source material IS the source material. And personally I don't think just because he was bullied justified the ego or attitude because EVERYONE in life and comics was bullied. Cap, Daredevil, Banner and the X-men all received equal or worse treatment but they never developed the selfish streak Peter had, that was something in his core personality.

But its not a EVIL thing tho, don't get me wrong. Its understandable, just not respectable IMO.

And I like that about the character. The fact that he went on a streak to redeem himself. I feel what you're saying but I like the fact that he was just a 16 year old trying to figure out what to do for himself and trying to join the FF and asking what the salary is. He needed the money man lol I ain't mad at him

THAT is the problem lol. His ego refused to allow himself to admit his enemy did Spider-Man possibly better than he did Spider-Man and would focus on his failures (let's be honest, he only had the Green Goblin issue because his stuff got hacked, the type of shyt you really can't prepare for) rather than given him a fair shake.

Through none of his own achievement. Doc Ock basically left him a stocked fridge for him to eat (even if he left dirty dishes too) and we gonna watch Peter fukk it up and it all disappear within the next 5 years, just watch! Lol :mjcry:

And I respect JMS but him turning Peter to a cuckold :mjlol:might be worse than everything else I mentioned, lol.

Peter SPECIFICALLY fukked up his multiple opportunities to join the Avengers because his ego wouldn't allow himself to be humble. That's one of the many reasons he should blame himself for his financial issues. You don't see Hawkeye missing rent payments lol

I think you're giving Ock too much credit for being an arrogant prick who felt like only the big crimes needed to be handled. there are no big crimes, bad guys are bad guys, whether they wear costumes or ski masks

And that all depends on Slott breh.

I don't like Peter in the Avengers though for real. I don't like him as a part of any team. He doesn't fit well in that dynamic especially because the writers immediately make him into a quip machine and take out any of the great character stuff, they just make him jokes jokes and jokes
