I see we already have a good bit of the “ You got soft hands brother. I just got off a 250 hour shift” people commenting already. :mjlol:

He’s a full time student working there part time while trying to go to school and earn some extra money the Starbucks is filled with customer and already short staffed. I’d probably be stressed out and complaining too.

When employees rightfully complain about unfair workplace practices y’all call it whining. Why wouldn’t you want better for future generations?

Maybe it's a generational thing. I Was born in 81 and I went through every single thing he described and that's what i"m not understanding.

I worked 25-30 hours. I came in every now and then on my day off when they asked me to. I worked the occasional saturday when I Wanted to be at the mall with my friends. I am not saying I was never NOT frustrated but dude's reaction is TOO MUCH! You just sucked it up and did it under the belief you never have to do it again at yourr next job,

Yeah, i worked basically full time while in school too. But to be fair most retail/customer service/food service jobs have been pretty shyt post covid. These places are extremely short staffed because no one want to do those jobs anymore. But, maybe bringing awareness to these issues could make things better so people would have to just suck it up and working conditions could be better for the next generation :yeshrug:

Going through the twitter thread I just think its weird the obsession Americans have with defending the system that exploits them. People bragging about daily 16 hour shifts like its a badge of honor :smh:

I wasn't exploited. THat's the problem with you soft nikkas, you think working hard is being exploited. I worked an 8 hour shift OCCASIONALY On the weekend. 1nce maybe twice a month. I was compensated almost two dolalrs more than mimimum wage. Minimum wage was $4.25 then and I was getting $5.75 an hour.

I used the money to buy a lot of dumb shyt but I also started my stock account, and bought my first beat making gear. ANd now i can work 8-12 hours at my IT job, come home then spend 4 more hours making beats, edit/promote my podcast videos or whatever my agenda. Maybe this new generation don't have same battery pack my generation has.

I talk to bytches 8 years younger than me and they in bed at 8PM crying about how they still gotta clean the kitchen but don't want to.

You justifying the exploitation now
Ain't no reason for you to be working that hard as a minor

Idk I'm kinda mute to you saying your only focus shouldn't be school because work gives you access to money to waste on dumb shyt

Problem is, the little pipsqueak didnt sign up for that and wouldn’t have if they had been upfront about the fact that they work the hell out of their people. The problem in America is while everybody else is working to live, we’re living to work. This ain’t no self owned business, this ain’t a doctor on call all night. This is a coffee shop.
You can be upfront about it from the jump, but things change especially in the retail and fast food world which deals with high turnover as it is.

So you didn't even work as hard as this kid but you in here talking shyt? :laff:
Ok, Here's how stupid you are.

I said I worked 25-30 hours a week at my part time job with an occasional 8 hr shift on Saturdays

You see there's this thing called a WEEK DAY where I was expected to do 7 hours of high school and my 4-8pm shift 3 or 4 times out of the week.

Then you use addition to add all the hours together and you get 25-30 hours.

What you did was multiplication cuz you thought a 8 hr shift on the weekend some how translates to 30 hours.

Your generation fukkin sucks at math too
