Disney fukked up, South Park was spot on about them getting Star Wars.

I’ll be in the thread for the trailer and I’m gonna see it when it comes out but after the last Jedi I’m not really hyped to see this wrapped up at all. The only story thread left is how Rey/Finn/Poe, a trio of super bland heroes I don’t really care about, defeat Kylo and Hux, some non intimidating villains I don’t really care about. Rian Johnson eliminated all of the mysteries from the first movie by pretty much saying “NO” to what JJ left him to run with. The new characters are not intriguing at all lmao, nothing that makes me wanna see more of them. None are really bad ass, really powerful, really unpredictable with shades of grey that make me wonder what they’ll do, there’s just, nothing.

shyt is kinda depressing how bad they dropped the ball.

At this point I'm pretty much done.

All of the OG characters are either dead or irrelevant.
Snoke is dead, so whatever plan he had is irrelevant.
None of the new characters have clear enough motivations for me to really care about them.
Rey has no clear motivation for wanting to be a Jedi, and we never see her in any real danger. Finn is still a bumbling idiot.
Kylo Ren and General Hux are Spaceballs-tier villains. I'm not scared of those guys.

At this point, where do we go from here, and why should I care? What is this new trilogy even about?

Question to anyone involve with film making

Does the director have complete dictator control of writing and making the film? Where does Disney or Lucas Film role in the film?

The script for The Last Jedi should have never been more than just a rough draft. Disney or Lucas Film should had:camby:upon reading the script. How much clout does the director have?

I think Disney/Lucas Film can step in whenever they want the problem is that Kathleen Kennedy makes those decisions and she’s proven pretty consistently that she sucks at it. She had no problem stepping in for Rogue One and Solo but for some reason was on Rian Johnson’s dikk so hard that not only did she leave his script for Last Jedi alone she greenlit an entire new trilogy for him smh
