They’d fukked up the series; it’s ridiculous it’s taken two movies to feature the knights of ren while at the same time they recycled old themes from older films. You can tell this story wasn’t written as a whole, they just piecing together things and it’s a poor way to write a series. Like characters dying off for no damn reason, appearing with no major role.

It’s really careless writing...

I don't think anyone saw the lack of vision from Lucasfilm and Kathleen Kennedy coming. I think we all assumed they weren't naive/dumb enough to approach a trilogy sequel as big as Star Wars literally without any plan in sight and they were just gonna let directors write their own take and work it on the fly.

My guess is a lot of people felt this trilogy was a "fresh start" so to speak. Given how Lucas couldn't translate some interesting concepts into good movies in the prequels - well, Revenge is pretty good imo -, fans were eager to watch a new chapter with the characters and story they grew up loving with new people at the helm. The fact Disney made a home run with the MCU had to get people excited too, the studio knew how to do right with big franchises.

I think years from now, everyone will be even more :mindblown: and :wtf: at how Lucasfilm handled this trilogy. It's legit unbelievable they didn't map anything out without any story or plan that would hold the movies together.
The prequels get shyt on but let’s be serious they each have atleast one classic moment. Can we say the same for the new ones? Any classic lines like Obi speech in revenge?Han dying I guess? These are worse than the prequels and this last ones job is just to keep the score close.

Thing about the prequels is you knew where the story was headed. Development between some of the stories could have been better but we had a general idea of what was gonna happen based off of the original trilogy and general information in the books. These new ones make you feel like they have no direction...

Imma be mad as hell they make Rey out to be some clone or some shyt...

Very long piece in Vanity Fair, cool read though
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, The Ultimate Preview

Some snippets:

-Rise of Skywalker takes places about 1 year after TLJ.

-Rey's training is "almost complete".

-Knights of Ren confirmed

-J.J is saying he's taking a different approach than TFA. He's less about doing what he felt Star Wars should be to "doing what feels right" because it does, not because it adheres to something.

-Leia's scenes were done adapting the deleted scenes they had of her from TFA. They basically found new ways and contexts to put her dialogues and scenes.

-At least two new planets in Pasaana (desert planet, probably were we see Rey in the teaser) and Kijimi, a "snow dusted" planet.

-New First Order character in Allegiant General Pryde. They are also saying they will delve, at least a little, on the First Order origins, I guess that's where Pryde's character is for, to give that backstory.

-Keri Russell's character is called Zorri Bliss. "A masked scoundrel".

-Rey and Kylo's "bond" runs even deeper than previously revelaed
star-wars-feature-vf-2019-summer-embed-05.jpg

-Seems like Finn will be in charge of an Endor-like battle. This picture is about him "leading the charge against the mechanized forces of the First Order".

Images look pretty solid but of course that dosent mean much.

I like the new character designs. I like that they are going into the origins of the first order. Hopefully they tie in snoke to palp because that seems to make no sense.

I'm pulling for JJ and hope he sticks the landing on this.

Awesomeness
People have been hyped about seeing a fully force mastered Luke for decades. We never got that with Anakin so Luke was the closest and this fukk boi Rian had him doing nothing and not only that had Rey beat him in combat.:hhh:

Read the books, breh...he becomes the greatest swordsman in the galaxy, handing out galactic fades and fukking a red headed assassin:wow:

It’s not about size, he lost a lot of midichlorians when he lost his limbs.
From my understanding, even though he lost blood/limbs, his midichlorian concentration per blood cell was still insanely high. The difference is, because he was in the condition he was in, he was always channeling the force just to live essentially. Like, it was painful for him to be alive in his condition and to operate the suit, to fight with the suit (they made references how the suit wasn’t even that technically advanced, it was a big bulky, hard to operate, piece of equipment).

That pain also fueled his connection to the dark side; being in pain emotionally and physically kept his thoughts dark. It’s almost like he became the suit when he accepted the dark side, it was a physical reflection of what he was struggling with.

I believe that’s why he didn’t technically advance with dark side techniques, he was using the dark side to keep himself alive. Which, in itself, was a feat...

Also, the narrative to some degree is that the Emperor was always looking to replace him so he never truly taught him the full Dark Side
