The visual dictionary that came out named those guards that Palpatine had. They're all named after ancient Sith, most of them from the KOTOR era. The descriptions all match the events from the games as well.

I have a strong feeling that Palp was a last minute addon once they saw how the 11th hour Vader edit for Rogue One made fans lose their collective minds.

From production costs on the film's and advertising they were still like 2 bil in the hole from what I read.
+Galaxy's Edge in Disneyland/World/Paris(building it right now).
Lmao at thinking 5 movies, one of which was Solo which barely broke even, will earn you back 4billi. They've done very well though and they'll make their money back with the merch and parks.
I think the biggest failure will be the rep of the trilogy. All started with the arrogance with which they discarded George Lucas, thinking they knew better. Now they've created the first live action SW movie that wasn't a smash success (Solo) and a trilogy even more divisive than the Prequels, which they desperately tried to avoid by copying the OT blueprint and throwing jabs at the prequels.
In his memoir Bob Iger talks about how he should've been more on top of the discussions with George. Now you've got JJ, Terrio, actors and Rian Johnson's wife throwing shots at KK. It's obvious that they're setting her up, right and also wrongly, to take the fall for the sequel trilogy.

Thats laughable...production cost on each film is around 200 million, except solo due to reshoots. No way tgey could be close to 2 billion in the hole when making more than a billion on all but one film so far.
Only solo lost money.
Disney bought Lucasfilm six years ago today and has already recouped its $4 billion investment
That 2billi in the red includes Galaxy's Edge. I think each park (2 open now 1 being built in Paris) is estimated at a billi.
The movies made their money, but also destroyed their rep. The Star Wars stories have already been forced to lean back, and the reception to the trilogy definitely has Bob Iger stepping up and even contradicting KK in interviews. It's rare for him to be this open.
His memoir is a very interesting read, and while he's obviously selling himself- he seemed genuinely upset that their relationship with George Lucas soured due to poor communication on Disney's (KK's) part.

Considering everything they've done to George in regards to what is basically his baby, I'd call Iger on skype/facetime and tell him he only gets half a bar and keep it moving. But he's a better man than I if he looks past all that.
That two billion includes Galaxy's Edge, which up until recently was a bomb, and the gigantic piles of unsold Sequel Trilogy toys and merch outside of BB-8
Add marketing. The force awakens spent like 445 million making and marketing the movie. I expect similar figures from the other two triology films.
That would put them close to 2 billion to make and market these 5 movies.
We don't know how well the merch has been selling? I can't remember the last time I saw a kid with a star wars toy. It's usually older people (many of whom didn't like these recent movies).
There is also no way they recouped the money from building the parks this fast. They probably still in the hole.
They didn't expect this to be a quick turnaround investment. But the negative buzz is probably hurting long term marketability of the IP. Which is why Iger is so irate.
