JJ movies were trash to but at least he attempted to make a SW movie...

The problem for me is that JJ tried making Star Wars movies that were already made, so he didn't just fail but he failed while taking what seemed the easy way out.

Rian at least took a few swings, some landed for me and most missed - but I find it a more interesting end product than TFA and definitely than TROS which damn near fails at everything it needs to do, imo.

Okay, so...

How did the ancient Sith who wrote on the dagger know that the navigation pyramid artifact thing would be in a room, on the remains of the Death Star, in the Endor system, and that you can spot its location from a random hill nearby?

Could this person see the future? Did the Force tell him? Or did the writers of this film just not expect us to think about this?

Elaborate on the bold...

There wasn't a single moment in that idiotic film that landed for me...

No characters, not from a plot standpoint, not from a sci fi fan standpoint and definitely not from a SW fan standpoint...

The film is retarded, B. That was the same dagger Palpatine’s goon used to stab Rey’s parents with, if you noticed. That took place BEFORE the Death Star blew up. Yet the DS2 wreckage exactly matched the pattern on the dagger? :what:

Not to mention, Rey somehow found the EXACT spot where you had to be standing to line up the pattern with the wreckage? Since any other angle would be wrong. Straight up garbage film, and people in this thread praising this trash should be ashamed

I'm on record as disliking TLJ/this whole trilogy, let's start there. What worked for me in TLJ isn't a lot but here you go:

- Visuals, except for teh Fathiers I think the movie is possibly the best looking movie in the saga. The Holdo maneuvre is dumb as fukk but that shyt is fukking gorgeous.
- Ben killing Snoke. Because fukk Snoke. It's the Skywalker saga so Ben SHOULD do what Vader never managed and bush his master (of course undone by bringing Palpatine back). Snoke was wack from jump.
- ...Porgs were cute.
- owyeah I liked the Ben/Leia moment. Of course it leads to one of the dumbest scenes in the saga but that little moment between them was dope.
- Luke's speech about the force and the montage during was dope too.

It's not a lot, but that should inform you how low I hold the JJ films. I refuse to give him props for copying George's blueprint, and once you take that out there's not much left.

I can't believe that people are now excusing TLJ just because they hate JJ now. You can hate all three of these movies if you want, there's no reason to make it a JJ vs Rian when they both did some awful stuff.

I don’t think most people are doing that. Just the loud minority that pretend TLJ was good.

I can only speak for myself here, but personally I loved the opening scene with poe in the drifting xwing, throne room (i know the phantom dagger but you can look at stupid stuff from any lightsaber duel in the prequels, not shytting on em, just saying) and ima huge guy on visuals so I love how the movie looked, esp crait...and how he used something disney said was no longer cannon to end the film(luke projecting)

but its still fukk canto bight all day, hated what he did to Finn(jj should have tried to make sure rian knew he was Force Sensitive, woulda made ROS better, imo...he could have ended the film beginning his training...) and pointless characters like rose and the codebreaker...i was so pumped when he was cast cause he looks like someone who shouod be in star wars...but they fukked that up.

o..and fukk mary poppins bullshyt too. But that stuff aside, if rian would have gotten out of his own way and maybe had a writing partner for the film, it had the outline for what could have been a top tier SW film. Thats just me tho.

My dude put his life on the line, and devoted so much of his focus and energy for this girl only for her to turn around and fall in love with the big bad emo guy who manipulated, tortured her and killed a bunch of their friends and colleagues( AND you got tons of people cheering this narrative decision on as well).
